The status and path of a country's participation in the global(regional)division of labor is a decisive factor in promoting its contribution to domestic economic growth by its production and exports, reflecting the country's source of power for production and trade. The East Asian multinational production network with Korea,Japan,Singapore and other economies as its main members has developed into a multinational production network with the EU and North American Free Trade Zone after years of regional production division and cross-border investment. The traditional East Asian production network evolved from the “Flying Geese Model”.However, since the end of the 20 th century, along with the long-term downturn in the Japanese economy and the outbreak of the Asian financial crisis, the traditional “goose-going mode” of the East Asian regional production network has gradually declined.Since the reform and opening up,China has gradually participated in the division of labor in the East Asian regional production network with its huge demographic dividend and abundant resource endowments. At the same time,China's production capacity and technological progress continue to make a qualitative leap, and its competitive effects triggered by participation in East Asian production networks have also promoted the reconstruction of East Asian regional value chains.Based on the reconstruction of East Asian regional value chain, this paper studies the status of China's manufacturing industry in the regional production network, and tests the factors affecting the division of labor in the manufacturing value chain of a country through empirical models. The research content mainly includes five parts: firstly, the research background, research purpose, significance and research framework of this paper are introduced;secondly, the theoretical basis of the research and the mechanism of the division of labor of the value chain are constructed; Then, from the perspective of import and export,it analyzes the trade structure of China and East Asian countries.Fourth, measure the status and impact path of GVC division of labor and industry level in China's manufacturing industry, and conduct horizontal cross-country comparison.Fifth,On the basis of the above research, further investigate the influencing factors affecting the division of labor in the manufacturing value chain of China and East Asian countries, and propose relevant policy recommendations based on the research results. The results show that the GVC division of labor in China's manufacturing industry is at the middle and lower levels of east Asia. The level of GVC division of labor and resourceintensive industries at the sub-sector level is significantly higher than that of capital and technology-intensive industries; From the perspective of the influence path of GVC's division of labor,it is obvious that China's manufacturing industry participates in the global value chain division of labor in the form of upstream suppliers and downstream demanders of intermediate goods, and the final demand of its manufacturing industry plays a much more important role in driving global production than other countries in east Asia.East Asian countries have a clear division of labor in the regional production network, and the characteristics of value chain participation measured by the former backward production chain length are significantly different. In addition, among the influencing factors of the division of labor in the value chain of the manufacturing industry, the increase in the degree of forward participation, the ratio of capital to labor and the expansion of investment in technology research and development have promoted the promotion of the status of GVC.Finally, based on the analysis results, the following suggestions are proposed:(1)Deepen regional value chain cooperation;(2)Improve domestic value chain and prolong the length of GVC production for complex activities;(3)Expand opening up to the outside world and give play to the level of international division of labor driven by buyers;(4)Optimize the structure of production factors and improve the technical level.
