Evaluation Of Shanxi's Manufacturing Competitiveness And Analvsis Of Influencing Factors

Shanxi Province is an important energy supply base in China,economic development is affected by coal and other resource-based industries.Since 2013,Shanxi's economy has been facing the problems like lack of development momentum.The manufacturing industry is the foundation of economic and social development.As an important component of the industrial system,promoting the transformation and development of Shanxi's economy needs to give full play to the driving role of manufacturing in regional economy.The existing research on manufacturing competitiveness is a comprehensive evaluation of various single capabilities,without analysis and evaluation of the correlation between various basic capabilities.This paper makes a comprehensive evaluation of manufacturing competitiveness,while using the synergy theory to supplement manufacturing competitiveness.In addition,it analyzes the influencing factors of manufacturing competitiveness based on the resource endowment theory.A correct understanding of the current development situation and competitiveness level of Shanxi's manufacturing industry is the premise and foundation for the formulation of manufacturing industry policies.Firstly,the paper analyzes the current situation and existing problems of Shanxi's manufacturing industry.Then referring to Porter's "Diamond Theory Model",it uses factor analysis and compound synergy model to evaluate and analyze the competitiveness of manufacturing industry above scale in Shanxi Province from 2005 to 2018.In order to more accurately reflect the competitiveness of Shanxi's manufacturing industry in the national level,this paper selects five provinces of Inner Mongolia,Heilongjiang,Jilin,Guizhou and Shaanxi as comparative analysis.Based on the analysis of the competitiveness of Shanxi's manufacturing industry,this paper divides the influencing factors of Shanxi's manufacturing industry into internal and external factors according to the resource endowment theory,and analyzes the main influencing factors of Shanxi's m anufacturing industry competitiveness,The results of factor analysis show that the overall competitiveness of Shanxi's manufacturing industry is on the rise from 0.582 in 2005 to 1.482 in 2018.However,compared with other provinces,the competitiveness level of manufacturing industry is relatively low,the gap with other provinces is relatively small before 2008,and the gap with other provinces is widened after 2008.The analysis results of synergy degree show that:the level of synergy degree of manufacturing industry in Shanxi province is on the rise,from 0.071 in 2005 to 0.361;However,compared with other provinces,the level of manufacturing synergy is lower,the same as that of Shaanxi and Jilin provinces,but lower than that of the other three provinces.In terms of internal factors affecting manufacturing competitiveness,employees' investment,R&D investment,market level and post and telecommunications per capita have significant positive effects on competitiveness,while fixed asset investment and government intervention have no significant effect on competitiveness.In terms of external factors affecting manufacturing competitiveness,location quotient and industrial transfer have significant negative effects on competitiveness,while foreign investment and industrial extroversion have no significant effects on competitiveness.
