With the process of economic globalization and the development of information technology revolution,specialized division of labor and collaboration in various industries has become more and more deeper.Speed,flexibility,integration,and innovation have turned into the factors that make the competitive advantage of the organization.In this process,the ability to collect and analyze knowledge(technology)and information becomes an important determinant.On the basis of preserving the advantages of traditional project teams,the virtual team breaks through organizational barriers,breaks through time and space constraints,makes resource allocation more,organizes more extensive cooperation,works more flexibly,and responds to the changes in the environmental more quickly,and the formation of corporate strategies and customer value.Due to the outstanding performance in the formation of corporate strategies and customer value creation,and other aspects,virtual project teams are more and more favored by managers.However,the characteristics of virtual project teams crossing organizational boundaries,time-space boundaries,and cultural boundaries also bring adverse factors,such as communication barriers,trust crises,and cultural conflicts to teamwork,ect.How to make the virtual project team smoothly and efficiently crosses cultural barriers and improve the efficiency of teamwork has become an important research topic.This paper conducts an exploratory single case study on FluentU website construction virtual project team in the F company.A large accurate and detailed first-hand data was collected through personal interviews.This paper deeply analyzes the management behaviors,including the team cooperation model,the team operation model,and the team model.At the same time,combined with virtual team,culture,communication and cross-cultural communication theory,the cross-cultural communication and management issues hidden behind the case of virtual team management behavior is deeply explored.This paper believes that solving the cross-cultural virtual team communication problem requires the formation of a unified business thinking,behavior and the team culture based on "trust";at the same time,the team should improve communication plans such as communication methods,communication tools,task allocation processes and assessment incentives to reduce the impact on cross-cultural communication efficiency.Strive for the two to complement each other and work together to strengthen the influence of team members.On the basis of breaking the barrier of team communication,reshaping the concept of teamwork,and building the team's fast trust,a business consensus of members is reached,so that and the consensus,ability matching and action consistency enabled the team members to successfully achieve efficient cross-departmental business collaboration.Since the outbreak of the Novel Coronavirus,most of the traditional project teams have actively or passively turned into virtual project teams.According to the latest report released by scholars of Imperial College London,based on the new crown virus,in March 2020,the new crown virus will not be completely eliminated.After the outbreak,human life will enter a cycle:periodically shut down and periodically restart The virtual project team will occupy an important position,especially in the process of cross-border communication.This paper deeply explores the reasons for the cross-cultural virtual project team in the process of solving communication barriers,and formulates feasible solutions accordingly,which has certain practical significance.
