In recent years,China's economy is in a transition period from "quick" to "stable",In order to adapt to market development needs and competition,companies are reforming,and they are full of negative emotions such as pressure,frustration,conflict and exclusion in the workplace,Leadership humor has a variety of constructive functions,such as relieving stress,lubricating communication and promoting positive emotions.It is paid attention from scholars in Japan and abroad.However,in the situation of China,the style of the leader is often a patriotic leader influenced by the Confucian culture,and the leader is often solemn and modest,and he is smiling lightly,and the communication is used with less humor.Therefore,the domestic academic community does not emphasize the hot spot of this study because of the lack of practice soil.In this context,how Chinese leaders use leadership humor to communicate with employees has become one of the most important issues for companies,and more and more business leaders realize the importance of leadership humor.As the research on leadership humor progresses,scholars have discovered that leadership humor,as a management tool,needs to be further explored to improve the effectiveness of leadership management.However,the current academic research on leadership humor is mainly based on western leadership theories,while the exploration of Chinese paternalistic leadership is relatively scarce.Therefore,focusing on the relationship between paternalistic leadership,leadership humor,and organizational commitment has very important practical and theoretical significance,which is in line with the actual situation of Chinese enterprises.Based on the existing literature,this study conducts an empirical analysis of 326 valid questionnaires,and attempts to explore the role of paternalistic leadership on employee organizational commitment in the Chinese context,especially the regulating role of leadership humor as a management tool.The results show that: benevolent leaders and moral leaders in paternalistic leadership have a positive role in promoting organizational commitments,while authoritarian leadership has a negative effect on employee organizational commitments;affinity humor in paternalistic leadership and employee organizational commitments The relationship plays a significant positive adjustment,and the aggressive humor plays a significant negative adjustment in the relationship between paternalistic leadership and employee organizational commitment.Enlightenment from this research: Leaders in the enterprise should use as much friendly humor as possible in the management process,avoid using aggressive leadership humor,create a harmonious working atmosphere,and improve the organizational commitment of employees.At the same time,managers of enterprises should exercise discretion and control behaviors in their daily work.
