With the rapid development of network electronic information,the market demand of optical communication products is accelerated,and the competition of enterprises in the market is more and more fierce.Due to the rapid renewal of products,the market for the product price measurement and product on time delivery requirements are very strict,therefore,in this survival environment,the control of operating costs and delivery cycle become particularly important.As a leading supplier of optical communication products in China,SES company has strong comprehensive capabilities,including independent research and development of products,market development and production.SES company has been implementing lean production for many years,but the effect is not good,especially for the control of WIP in the production process.The occupation of inventory funds and the longer production cycle have affected SES company's leading advantage in the market.Therefore,how to use lean management tools to effectively control the WIP inventory in the production process of SES company,so as to establish the long-term operation advantages of enterprises,has become the topic of this research.In this research,firstly,we understand the current situation of product inventory research at home and abroad,define the concept of value stream tool,work in process inventory and inventory management,and analyze the current situation and problems of work in process inventory management of SES company by using lean production theory,value stream theory and inventory management theory.In this paper,we mainly use value stream theory as reference In this paper,the author analyzes the possible improvement points in the production process inventory management of SES company from two aspects of information flow and real logistics,and then designs the value stream oriented improvement plan of SES company based on the lean production theory,and applies it to the improvement practice.The research results show that(1)SES company has problems such as long production cycle,high management costs and large capital occupation,which reflects the weakness of SES company in process control mechanism,production operation mode and effective lean management tools.(2)Grasp the customer's needs with the help of value stream tools,and find the main improvement points include: change from push operation to pull operation,reflect the upstream customers' needs from the point of view of material flow,and achieve on-demand production;second,balance the production pace before and after production by improving the balance of process lines in the production process;at the same time,manage the coordinator through Kanban Information flow and material flow in production process.(3)The design and implementation of improvement plan starts from the standardization of production process personnel operation,and then reduces the semi-finished goods inventory in production process by adjusting the production timing between the production units so as to balance the production among the units.Meanwhile,the pulling and flowing production and operation modes are used to improve the turnover rate of work-in-process inventory,thus improving the production process.Operating efficiency.Through the implementation of the program,SES has achieved remarkable results in the control of WIP inventory.This research can be used as a practical reference for other process improvement within SES company,and also as a reference for other domestic optical communication product suppliers in terms of value stream improvement.
