Research On Scientific Data Citation Behavior Of Chinese Scientific Researchers

Scientific data citation is a common information behavior of scientific researchers in the dataintensive scientific research paradigm.Normative citation of scientific data has received continuous attention from academic circles and national policy management departments in recent years.In 2018,the State Council issued the Scientific Data Management Methods and national standards.Information Technology Scientific Data Citation(GB/T 35294-2017),puting forward new requirements for the practice and management of scientific data citation in China.As important users of scientific data,scientific researchers need to standardize the presentation and reference of scientific data in the expression of academic results in order to improve the visibility of scientific data and promote the sharing of scientific data,so as to effectively exert the scientific value of scientific data and promote the development of scientific research.Therefore,this research is based on the data citation behavior of scientific researchers,focusing on exploring the scientific data citation behavior patterns in journal articles,and aims to describe the status of citation of scientific data in different disciplines,reveal the characteristics and relevances of citation behavior patterns of scientific data,and dig out the differences of scientific data citation behavior patterns among different disciplines.This study combines the national standard of Information Technology and Scientific Data Citation(GB/T 35294-2017)to construct a content analysis category system for scientific data citation behavior from 18 dimensions,and uses this to compile research variable sets for scientific data citation behavior patterns.Based on the China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI)journal database,the full text of the first issue of each of the 12 academic journals in different disciplines from 2017 to 2019 were selected as the sample;4992 clear citation records were identified by manual coding methods and coded Multi-dimensional according to the content analysis category system.Based on coded data,firstly,the statistical distribution of category data in different dimensions is used to reveal the characteristics of scientific data citation behaviors of researchers in journal articles,mainly reflecting the characteristics of scientific data citation behavior from eight aspects(citation labeling mode,citation presentation form,citation location,citation mark labeling position,citation source information labeling position,data source title,unique identifier,parse address),and reflecting the characteristics of scientific data from six aspects(creation time,creator,communicator,country of origin,form type,content type).Subsequently,the chi-square test,log-linear model test,and correspondence analysis method were used to analyze the correlations and influence effects between the characteristic variables of the reference behavior pattern,and to mine the rules of scientific data reference behavior patterns,and to reveal the differences in scientific data reference behavior patterns among researchers in different disciplines.The study found that: in general,citation of scientific data of scientific researchers is more common in journal articles,and the number of citations of scientific data has increased year by year,but irregular citations are also common.The degree of labeling different citation elements of scientific data by researchers are varies,among which the irregular citation of unique identifier and parsed address of scientific data are particularly prominent,which mainly related to the way of citation labeling mode and the type of communicator of scientific data.Citation labeling mode,citation mark labeling position and citation source information labeling position together reflect the labeling behavior patterns of scientific data citation,there are two common citation labeling behavior patterns currently: where the source is marked with references & references and where the source is directly marked without references,the types of scientific data communicators and creators have a significant effect on the behavior pattern.The differences in scientific data citation behaviors among researchers in different disciplines are as follows: First,there are differences in the degree of citation of scientific data,the citations of scientific data in the fields of natural science and engineering technology are increasing and higher than the overall average,while in the fields of social sciences and humanities is relatively stable and lower than the average.Second,there are differences in the citation tendency of scientific data,which is mainly reflected in the creation time,creator,and content type of scientific data.The scientific data cited in the disciplines of natural science and engineering science have a longer time span and are rich in types,and tend to cite scientific research data created by individual or team researchers;the social science disciplines mainly refer to timeliness scientific data,and they tend to cite survey statistical scientific data created by organizations;while the humanities field tends to cite factual scientific data with a long history.Third,there are significant differences in the position of the labeling of scientific data citation source information in journal articles.Most researchers in the fields of natural sciences and engineering science and technology mark the source information of scientific data in the reference list,but there are many situations that directly describe the source of scientific data in the body of the article in the fields of social sciences,in addition,most of the scientific data citation information is marked in the footer by annotations in the humanities field.what's more,there is a certain difference in the reference position of scientific data in journal articles of different disciplines.These scientific data citation behavior differences may be mainly affected by the discipline scientific research paradigm and inherent citation habits,and the difference in citation labeling behavior is related to the citation tendency of the creator source of scientific data.
