Performance management is an important part of human resource management and an important means of talent management.Product development department of PY factory is the headquarters of company A's global retail clothing label product development,and product development staff is an important resource of company A.It is more and more important to establish a scientific performance management system and implement it effectively for the product development staff of company A.Under the guidance of modern human resource management theory,this study analyzes performance management actual situation of product developers in company A by combining qualitative and quantitative research methods.After structured interviews with the management and the relevant key positions of product development department,and conducted the questionnaire survey in four aspects: target management,performance implementation,performance assessment & feedback,and application of performance results.We found that the product development department of company A has the following problems in performance management:(1)lack of strategic orientation in performance management;(2)lack of systematic understanding of performance management by management and employees;(3)unreasonable setting of evaluation indicators;(4)failure to form a closed-loop mechanism in performance management;(5)failure to reasonably apply the results of performance evaluation,the results of personnel evaluation are not consistent with the employees' payment or promotion at present,which does not reflect the effectiveness of performance appraisal,nor can it play an incentive role for employees.According to the main existing problems in the performance management of product developers in company A,under the guidance of modern performance management theory,this study optimizes the performance management system of product developers--firstly,it clarifies the objectives and principles of the construction of performance management system;secondly,it makes a detailed description of the design of the content system,institutional system and operation system;finally,it designs the performance management effectiveness evaluation system,to evaluate the performance of new performance management after implementation.And from(1)the combination of performance management and the development of the company;(2)actively do the preliminary work;(3)strengthen communication;(4)improve the supporting incentive measures to ensure the implementation of the performance management system.Through the research on the optimization of performance management system of product developers of company A,the researchers hope to do some contribution to the scientific and standardized human resource management of A company,and also hope to provide some useful references for the innovation of human resource management of foreign-funded enterprises in China.
