The Research Of Implementation Russian International Transport Corridor In The Belt And Road Initiative

The development of international transit through the territory of Russia is one of the areas of cooperation between Russia and China in the Belt and Road Initiative.The Trans-Siberian Railway plays the main role in the development of international transit,which is the railway "bridge" connecting the countries of the Asia-Pacific region and the European Union.The special importance of the Trans-Siberian Railway in the formation of the main transit corridor of Russia is emphasized by the specialization of the railway for container transportation provided for in the Strategy for the Development of Railway Transport of the Russian Federation until 2030.China and Russia are historical partners and participants of the Great Silk Road of antiquity.Currently,Russia and China are constantly growing and developing on the Eurasian continent.Russian-Chinese relations are again experiencing their best period in history,as the two countries have become partners in the field of general strategic cooperation.The "Belt and Road Initiative" strategy put forward by China has created favorable conditions for comprehensive cooperation between China and the Russian Federation in the new century.The Government of the Russian Federation supports the Chinese strategy by providing conditions for joint participation in the implementation of the“Belt and Road Initiative".The main objective of this study is the research of the implementation of the Trans-Siberian railway into BRI.Therefore,in this study,it was set three main objectives:To estimate the effectiveness of the Trans-Siberian Railway as a BRI element;to investigate challenges of Russian international transport corridor Trans-Siberian Railway;to the research of external factors and assessment of the attractiveness of integration of the ITC Trans-Siberian railway to BRI.A theoretical analysis of international transport corridors,an exploration of the BRI,as well as Russian projects of international transport corridors,in the Chinese project "One belt-one Road" is described in detail in the second chapter.In the research study,there were considered world practices,where is analyzed the achievements in the field of ITC implementation.The necessity of pairing Russian projects with Chinese ones were be analyzed and identified.On the example of the ITC Trans-Siberian railway,measures will be proposed to increase the competitiveness and attractiveness of the use of Russian international transport corridors.The study is devoted to the current state of international rail transit on the Trans-Siberian container trade turnover.The main existing and potential cargo flows are analyzed,a number of factors influencing the growth of transportation services exports in international transit are revealed.The key role in the transit service development of the Chinese multi-purpose project“One Belt,One Road"is determined.A competitive analysis of the Trans-Siberian route and alternative container delivery routes between Asia and Europe is carried out.Based on the analysis of the problems,the author issued a number of recommendations and measures to address the identified problems,as well as to impart the situation with the implementation of the Trans-Siberian Railway to BRI.The author suggests a number of institutional,strategic,organizational,and legal measures aimed at increasing international transit across the Trans-Siberian railway route with BRI.The study showed that the Trans-Siberian route has several development trends,the implementation of which can be a boost to the growth of the Russian economy,especially its far Eastern and Siberian regions.The scientific significance of the research is determined,on the one hand,by the fact that the object of study is unprecedented in history processes caused by the increasing globalization of economic relations in connection with the Chinese initiative BRI,supported by the leadership of the Russian Federation.On the other hand,issues related to the integration processes of the Trans-Siberian transport corridor are becoming relevant due to the expansion and deepening of ties with the Asia-Pacific region in the context of cross-border interactions.The theoretical and practical significance of the results of this research is the possibility of using the theoretical conclusions and practical recommendations by regional authorities in the process of implementing the Trans-Siberian Railway to BRI.
