The "Belt and Road" initiative has created an excellent international political environment for trade cooperation between countries and has also promoted international logistics progress. The policy makers in various countries have realized that it is not enough to carry out logistics management only at the enterprise level. The reason is that the level of national logistics performance will affect both countries' international trade and the development of the national economy.Improving national logistics performance can effectively link production, distribution, and consumption, and improves the efficiency of national economic operations.Although the existing research has achieved some results on the factors affecting logistics performance, most studies only focus on one or two factors. However, factors that affect the logistics performance of a country are often comprehensive factors, and the importance of influencing factors is diverse. In addition, there are relatively few research literatures on the influencing factors, influence intensity, and international regional comparisons on the logistics performance of countries in the "Belt and Road" initiative region, and it is urgent to conduct in-depth research on them. The research focus of this article is to find out the main factors that affect the country's logistics performance;compare and analyze the differences in the factors that affect the logistics performance of countries in participating nations along the "Belt and Road".Based on the theory of national competitive advantage, the study analyzes the factors affecting national logistics performance from four aspects: production factors, demand factors, industrial factors, and government factors.Through the empirical analysis of 49 countries along the "Belt and Road",the distinction in the factors affecting logistics performance in participating nations along the route were explored. The conclusions of the study are as follows:1.It is domestic and foreign demand, transportation infrastructure, international relations and trade openness, and communication network capabilities that positively affect the logistics performance of countries along the route.2.The international comparative analysis of the influencing factors of the overall indicators of national logistics performance:For the countries in the northern region, international relations and trade openness have a stronger impact on national logistics performance;for the countries in the middle region, transportation infrastructure has a stronger impact on it;for the countries in the southern region, the communication network capacity has a stronger impact on it.3.The international comparative analysis of the influencing factors of each sub-indicator of national logistics performance:(1)Customs: The southern line has a stronger impact on customs efficiency than the northern line.Domestic and international needs have a greater impact on customs efficiency in the northern and middle line countries.International relations and trade openness have a stronger impact on customs efficiency.Capacity has a stronger impact on customs efficiency.(2)Infrastructure: In the northern and middle-line countries, the impact of transport infrastructure, international relations and trade openness on the quality of logistics infrastructure is stronger;in the southern-line countries, the communication network capacity has the strongest impact on the quality of logistics infrastructure.(3)International Shipments: In the northern region, international relations and trade openness have the strongest impact on the convenience of international freight;in the middle region, the transport infrastructure has the strongest impact on the convenience of international freight;in the southern region, the domestic and foreign demand for international freight convenience has the strongest impact.(4)Logistics Quality and Competence: The north line countries have a stronger impact on logistics service capabilities and competitiveness than the middle line countries. There is a stronger impact on logistics service capabilities and competitiveness than international countries and trade openness in the north line.(5)Tracking and Tracing: In the countries of the north line, international relations and trade openness have the strongest impact on the ability to monitor freight throughout the entire process;in the countries of the middle line, transportation infrastructure and communication network capabilities have the strongest impact on the ability to monitor freight throughout the process.(6)Timeliness: Countries in the middle line have the strongest impact of transport infrastructure on transport timeliness. Finally, the thesis puts forward relevant suggestions to strengthen the logistics performance for the countries along the "Belt and Road".
