In 2013,President Xi Jinping first proposed the initiative of jointly building the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21 st Century Maritime Silk Road, hoping that China and countries along the routes can strengthen cooperation to promote the global flow of resources and production. The implementation of the initiative has promoted the development of logistics infrastructure and information technologyrelated facilities in countries along the Belt and Road, thus promoting the development of logistics, economy and trade in these countries.Today,it has been eight years since the "Belt and Road" Initiative was put forward. However, the policy effect of whether the initiative can promote the growth of international logistics performance in countries along the routes has not been fully studied.First of all,the paper reviews the research on the Belt and Road Initiative and logistics performance, expounds the strategic significance of the Belt and Road Initiative and its role in China and countries along the route, and clarifies the evaluation method of logistics performance and the relationship between logistics performance and economy, foreign trade and carbon emissions.Secondly, the global supply chain theory and logistics integration theory are reviewed in the theoretical part. After theoretical analysis, this paper analyzes the comprehensive indicators and sub-indicators of logistics performance of 58 countries along the "One Belt and One Road",and expounds the imbalance of logistics development in different regions. On the basis of theory and current situation analysis, this paper adopts the dual difference model and takes the Belt and Road Initiative as a quasi-natural experiment, using panel data from 2007 to 2018 to study the effect of the Belt and Road Initiative on the international logistics performance index of countries along the routes. In addition, the paper further analyzes the impact of the Belt and Road Initiative on the sub-indexes of the logistics Performance Index, and discusses the differential impact of the Belt and Road Initiative on the six regions along the belt and Road,as well as the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21 st Century Maritime Silk Road.It is found that the Belt and Road Initiative has a significant positive effect on the improvement of logistics performance in countries along the belt and Road. Moreover, among the sub-indexes,it has the strongest promoting effect on infrastructure construction, followed by cargo traceability and customs efficiency, and has a weak impact on international freight, logistics service capacity and timeliness of cargo transportation. In the test of regional heterogeneity, the BELT and Road Initiative has a significant positive effect on the improvement of logistics performance in CEE countries. Moreover, the belt and Road Initiative has a more obvious promotion effect on the logistics performance for the "Silk Road Economic Belt" countries, while the logistics performance index of the 21 st Century Maritime Silk Road countries has a relatively weak promotion effect. Finally, based on the results of theoretical and empirical analysis, some suggestions are put forward on how to improve the international logistics performance of countries along the belt and Road.
