| Innovation is the first driving force for development and the strategic support for building a modern economic system.As the most basic micro-unit of the national innovation system,enterprises are an important force in practicing the national innovation strategy and driving economic and social development.To drive innovation and achieve a sustainable competitive advantage,companies need to acquire superior resources and optimize their allocation.In the era of knowledge economy,knowledge has become the first choice and key resource to promote enterprise innovation and gain competitive advantage.The current research on the relationship between knowledge and enterprise innovation is more concentrated in the diversity of knowledge,but the connection among knowledge elements is more important than the diversity of knowledge.Otherwise,current research places more emphasis on individual aspects of internal or external network factors;few literatures consider both internal and external contextual factors simultaneously,and examine the mechanism of knowledge on the mechanism of innovation systematically.Based on this collaborative innovation network,this paper applies resource basic theory,technological innovation theory and path dependence theory to reorganize the concept of knowledge domain coupling.According to the relationship between the elements of knowledge domain and its relationship with the original knowledge,It is divided into two dimensions: complementary knowledge domain coupling and substitutable knowledge domain coupling.From the national key industry patent information service platform,we selected 171 companies from 5 industries,which applied for patent and cooperation patent application from 2000 to 2016.Using Stata software to analyze panel data,we empirically tested the influence and adaptation effect of knowledge domain coupling on enterprise binary innovation,introduce knowledge inertia、when government innovation support serves as a moderator,and verify its role.We conclude as follow:(1)Knowledge domains coupling has a positive impact on binary innovation.Complementary knowledge domain coupling has a positive impact on both exploratory and exploitative innovation,and the impact on the former is greater than that of the latter;the impact of substitutable knowledge domain coupling on exploratory innovation is not significant,but it can have a positive impact on exploitative innovation.(2)For exploratory innovation,complementary knowledge domain is significant and substitutable knowledge domain coupling is not significant;for exploitative innovation,substitutable knowledge domain coupling is greater than that of complementary knowledge domain coupling.(3)Knowledge inertia negatively moderates the positive relationship between knowledge domain coupling and binary innovation.(4)Government innovation support negatively moderates the positive relationship between knowledge domain coupling and binary innovation,and tax support is greater than subsidy support.The study explores the relationship between knowledge domain coupling and ambidextrous innovation,deepens the relationship between internal and external knowledge and its relationship with innovation,and expands the theoretical research of government innovation support to promote enterprise innovation;This study provides theoretical guidance and practical advice on improving knowledge management efficiency and break enterprise knowledge alas,and on improving the government’s innovative support model. |
