Research On Mechanism Between Ambidextrous Knowledge Search And Innovation Performance From The Perspective Of Knowledge Integration

How can enterprises keep innovating to gain competitive advantage in an open environment under the background of globalization and networking?This is one of the hot topics in the field of strategic management recently.The characteristics of knowledge richness becomes an important source of enterprises' innovation.However,the entemal knowledge is various and fragmented and difficult to be applied to innovation directly.So enterprises need to sort out and intergrate these knowledge systematically.Accroding to different knowledge characteristics,search boundaries and innovation purposes,knowledge can be divided into various types.Technology knowledge and market knowledge are two kinds of most typical knowledge.Exploration search and exploition search are the typical strategy of enterprise knowledge search.Scholars have discussed the relationship between knowledge search and innovation performance and put forward linear,inverted U type and not significant relationships.The reason is that the knowledge management process of enterprises is still regarded as a "black box",which has not revealed the mechanism between knowledge search and innovation performance.Based on the dual duality theory,we divides knowledge search into four types and explores the mechanism between knowledge search and enterprise innovation from the perspective of knowledge integration.We put forward conceptual model and research hypotheses after literature analysis and exploratory case study.In order to validate the model and hypothese,we designed questionnaire and sent them to managers and employees to answer these questionnaires.Finally,191 questionnaires were collected and the effective recovery rate was 62%.The results showed that the homologous bias,reliability,validity and model fitness were above the recommended level and it was suitable for structural model analysis.Then,the structural equation model was used to test the hypothese and most hypothese were supported by these data.The results showed that exploitative market knowledge search,exploitative technology knowledge search,exploratory market knowledge search and exploratory technology search have positive effect on auxiliary knowledge integration.Exploratoty market knowledge search and exploratory technology knowledge search have positive effect on complementary knowledge integration.Auxiliary knowledge integration has positive effect on incremental innovation.Complementary knowledge integration has positive effect on incremental innovation and breakthrough innovation.Auxiliary knowledge integration plays a partial mediating role in the relationship between exploitative knowledge search and incremental innovation and complementary knowledge integration plays a partial mediating role in the relationship between exploratory knowledge search and breakthrough innvaotion.
