Knowledge management, especially knowledge sharing, can obviously promote the innovation of supply chain organization.Although it can promote the innovation of supply chain organization to a certain extent relying only on internal knowledge, the homogenization of internal knowledge also limits the effect of internal knowledge sharing on supply chain organization innovation to a certain extent. Therefore, the external sources of knowledge are gradually attracting the attention of scholars.External search is an important way to obtain the external knowledge by the supply chain organization, but the scholars need to further explore how the supply chain organization acquires heterogeneous knowledge and affects the innovation of supply chain organization.Although some relevant scholars have studied this field,it is still in its infancy. There is less research on the relationship between external search and service innovation in supply chain organizations. In the time of service economy and innovation-based knowledge economy, service innovation is the key to enterprise development, but many enterprises still have insufficient innovation ability. Therefore, how to improve the service innovation of supply chain organization has become a hot issue in academic and practical circles. With the development of e-commerce,supply chain organizations are becoming more and more important,so how to improve the service innovation ability of the supply chain organization is of the time significance and value. This is not only related to the competitiveness of supply chain organizations in the whole industrial chain, but also related to the development trend of the whole industry. If the service innovation ability of the supply chain organization can't meet the industry development demand,it will be eliminated. This study built a theoretical model based on theory of organization learning and theory of social exchange, using external search among supply chain organizations as an independent variable, service innovation as a dependent variable and knowledge sharing as an intermediary variable.Additionally, interactive quality is added as a moderator variable into the model because interaction could drive knowledge communication. This study is to describe the internal mechanism that external search among supply chain organizations impacts service innovation and disclose "black box" of this impact. This study was carried out by a questionnaire survey method.A total of 221 valid questionnaires was collected from April to August 2019.Through theoretical deduction and data validation, this study concludes: 1.External search among supply chain organizations would significantly improve service innovation, but excessive search would hinder the promotion of service innovation. An inverted U-shaped relationship is found between external search among supply chain organizations and service innovation;2.Knowledge sharing partially plays moderator roles between external search among supply chain organizations and service innovation;3.Interactive quality positively regulates the relationship between external search among supply chain organizations and knowledge sharing, and knowledge sharing and service innovation.Significance of this study and innovation points lie in:1.This study probes the way that external search between supply chain organizations and knowledge sharing impact service innovation, providing evidence for external search among supply chain organizations and knowledge sharing to promote service innovation. In addition, previous scholars have not done much research on the relationship between external search among supply chain organizations and service innovation. So,this study further investigates the field of service innovation and provides new view for the construction of service innovation;2.This study verifies that knowledge sharing partially mediates the relationship between external search among supply chain organizations and service innovation, reveals the internal mechanism that external search among supply chain organizations impacts service innovation. This study provides a useful reference for subsequent study;3.This study adds interactive quality as the moderator variable between external search among supply chain organizations and service innovation, and verifies the positive regulation role of interactive quality, disclosing the "black box" of impacts.Besides, this study guides management practices of external search among supply chain organizations, based on which supply chain organizations would boost the service innovation by external search.
