In the era of knowledge economy,employee job involvement has become an important factor for an enterprise to maintain its competitiveness,as well as an important indicator to measure employees' work vitality,dedication and concentration.President Xi pointed out that "the enterprise employees need to strengthen the new era of the working class pride and sense of mission,struggle dedication,vigorously carry forward the spirit of labor model and craftsmen spirit","socialism is dry out,also dry out of" a new era,the highly stressed the staff actively involved in work,the importance of professional dedication.The traditional bureaucratic organization proposed by Max weber can no longer meet the needs of the new era,and employees need a more relaxed and harmonious organizational atmosphere and development space.Leaders can no longer rely solely on the power granted by the organization to manage subordinates,and humanized management has become a common requirement in enterprise management.Therefore,both employees and enterprise managers pay more and more attention to the creation of positive emotions and harmonious atmosphere in the workplace.How to provide a good working environment for employees to mobilize their work enthusiasm and promote their work involvement has become a hot topic in the field of organizational behavior.As the most important information source and transmitter in the organization,leaders' behavior and style will influence the behavior and attitude of employees.In recent years,more and more Chinese scholars have paid attention to the positive influence of leadership humor in the workplace.So does leadership humor affect employee engagement,and if so,what are the mechanisms and boundaries of impact? This paper carries on the empirical research with this question.On the basis of reading literature and relevant theories,this paper introduces organizational identity as a mediator based on social identity theory and employee sense of humor as a moderator based on social information processing theory.Through a stepwise regression analysis of 254 questionnaire data,the relationship between leadership humor,employee engagement,organizational identity and employee sense of humor was verified.The main conclusions of this paper are as follows:(1)leadership humor can significantly positively affect employees' work engagement,which is partially mediated by organizational identity,that is,organizational identity partly explains the impact of leadership humor on employees' work engagement.(2)the relationship between leadership humor and organizational identity is positively adjusted by the level of employees' sense of humor,and the higher the level of employees' sense of humor is,the more significant the positive prediction effect of leadership humor on organizational identity is.(3)the relationship between leadership humor and employees' work involvement is not regulated by employees' sense of humor.According to the research conclusion,this paper proposes that enterprises should attach importance to the role of leadership humor in promoting employees' organizational identity and job involvement,and advocate leaders to use humor more in daily work and life.At the same time,enterprises should carry out a variety of extracurricular activities to cultivate employees' sense of humor.
