Research On The Measurement And Upgrading Of China's Manufacturing Industry In The Global Value Chain

With the rapid development of China's manufacturing industry in recent years,the manufacturing industry has made remarkable achievements.However,along with the great progress,China's manufacturing industry is big but not strong,wide but not fine drawbacks are increasingly apparent.Under the background of globalization,China's manufacturing industry has been embedded in the global value chain,but it is mainly at the middle and low end of the chain,so it can only obtain less profits,which is not conducive to the further development of China's economy.Under such realistic requirements,China has timely proposed supply-side reform to promote the transformation and upgrading of middle and low-end industries into middle and high-end industries.However,in the process of manufacturing in China in March to high-end industry is difficult,on the one hand,the developed countries has long occupied the global value chain link,China's manufacturing industry in the global value chain link up process will inevitably weaken by developed countries and,on the other hand,China's r&d investment in the manufacturing sector itself,personnel training,enterprise management,and other factors can also largely determines its promotion.Therefore,China's manufacturing industry needs to determine its true position in the global value chain on the one hand,and find a way to transform and upgrade the manufacturing industry on the other hand.Only by solving these two problems can China's manufacturing industry transform and upgrade successfully.In this paper,under the perspective of global value chain,through the decomposition method of the total trade volume status in GVC and GVC participation index,measure the overall,segmentation of China's manufacturing industry,technology industry in the current status of global value chain and participation,and by comparative analysis with other countries the advantages and disadvantages of China's manufacturing industry on the global value chain.Through analysis,the overall degree of participation in global value chain of China's manufacturing industry is deeper,but our country manufacturing industry overall position in the global value chain is still in the middle and lower reaches of the position and status in GVC index rising trend,the general in the comparative analysis with other countries found that Chinese manufacturing GVC participation is relatively high,and the position is relatively low;Through further measurement of GVC participation index and GVC status index of subdivided industries and sub-technical industries,it is found that low-tech industries have lower GVC participation but higher GVC status.On the contrary,high-tech industries have higher GVC participation but lowerGVC status.In the part of empirical analysis,the law between the upgrading of manufacturing industry and various factors is analyzed by constructing the econometric model.The regression results show that the FDI to our country manufacturing industry upgrade has a significant role in promoting,FDI technology spillover effect significantly promoted the position of China's manufacturing industry in the global value chain,at the same time,increase investment in research and development to strengthen the FDI technology spillover effect,this shows that in actively introduce overseas high technology enterprise in China investment at the same time,the enterprise itself also needs to strengthen the technology absorbing ability.Labor also plays a significant role in promoting the upgrading of China's manufacturing industry.On the one hand,it is because of China's labor cost advantage,on the other hand,it is also the result of continuous optimization of China's labor structure.
