Research On The Impact Of Urbanization On The Economic Development In Western Region Of China

Urbanization has always been a key task of China's economic development and an important driving force for the process of modernization.Since the 70 th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China,with the improvement of the country's economic strength and social development,China's urbanization has maintained a high level of growth,and urbanization has always been a hot issue of social concern.In the process of continuous deepening of urbanization,urbanization exerts scale effects through population agglomeration,with the help of industrial upgrading optimization mechanism,employment transformation incentive mechanism and income increase growth mechanism,which have obvious promotion effect on economic development,which not only reflects The growth of the total economic volume in a country or region is also reflected in the improvement of the living standards of residents,which in turn drives the economy to gradually develop towards a healthy,sustainable and coordinated direction.While urbanization in the western region continues to develop,there is a problem of lagging development level,and there is still much room for development.In order to accelerate the pace of industrialization and modernization in the western region,the state implements the strategy of western development,which aims to further promote the development and construction of the western region and promote the economic development and modernization of the western region.The western region has been gradually developed with the continuous development of the country and policy support.The urbanization level has achieved relatively outstanding achievements.The scale of cities and towns has continued to expand,and urban construction has gradually improved,improving the quality of life of residents in the western region.However,the level of urbanization in the western region is low,the quality of urbanization needs to be improved,and the internal development is uneven.Urbanization development has gradually become a more prominent growth point in the economic development of the western region.How to improve the urbanization level of the western region and drive the sustained,healthy and stable development of the western region's economy,and then promote the coordinated development of urbanization in China and the increase of comprehensive national strength are worth in-depth Research issues.On the basis of sorting out and summarizing the research on urbanization at home and abroad,this article puts forward the feasible policy recommendations for improving the level of urbanization in the western region through theoretical explanation and empirical analysis based on the impact of urbanization on the economic development in the western region.This article expounds the background and significance of the research from two aspects of theoretical significance and practical basis,sorts out the domestic and foreign research results on urbanization,and analyzes and summarizes the concepts of urbanization and economic development,and the impact of urbanization on economic development.It is believed that urbanization can promote economic development through population agglomeration,income growth,industrial structure upgrade and employment structure optimization.On this basis,the four aspects of population,economy,industry and employment in urbanization are selected,and a composite indicator to measure the level of urbanization in the western region is constructed.Using the entropy method to calculate the weight,the analysis shows that industrial upgrading and income growth have a greater impact on the comprehensive level of urbanization.Through the use of single indicators and composite indicators to measure the level of urbanization in the western region,it is found that the urbanization of the western region still lags behind the national level under the continuous development,and there is a large gap between the urbanization level of the eastern and central regions,and the internal urbanization of the region The level is uneven.In order to further study the impact path and pulling degree of urbanization on the economic development of the western region,the panel data of twelve provinces,municipalities and autonomous regions in the western region from 1999 to 2018 were selected,and the measurement software Eviews7.0 was used to pass the stability test and co-integration Analysis,establish a variable coefficient fixed effect model for the comprehensive level of urbanization in the western region and economic development,and according to the empirical analysis results,we can see that urbanization has a relatively obvious role in promoting economic development in the western region.Finally,it summarizes the empirical impact of urbanization on the economic development of the western region,and proposes feasible suggestions for improving the urbanization level of the western region and improving the quality of social development.
