Research On The Relationship Between Improvisation Competency,Innovation Capability And Product Innovation Performance Of New Venture

Uncertainty,volatility and high competition are the main features of the current business environment.How to survive and develop in the turbulent environment has become the focus of attention.Improvisation is an important means for enterprises to cope with the rapidly changing environment.As a new research field,the research on improvisation competency needs to be supplemented.This paper focuses on the research of the function path of improvisation competency on product innovation performance.Through a detailed review of the historical origin,connotation,characteristics and existing studies of improvisation competency,it is found that the impact of improvisation competency on product innovation performance is controversial and there is a lack of in-depth research on the impact path.Therefore,this paper takes enterprise capability theory and innovation theory as theoretical support,and innovation capability,which is highly related to but completely different from improvisation competency,as a mediation variable,to construct a theoretical model of improvisation competency,innovation capability and product innovation performance.In this paper,a new enterprise is selected as the research object to reveal the influence of improvisation competency on product innovation performance and the mediating role of innovation ability between improvisation competency and product innovation performance.The survey data of 287 science and technology start-ups in the pearl river delta were obtained by issuing questionnaires.On the basis of descriptive statistical analysis,reliability and validity test and correlation analysis of the data,the following theoretical assumptions were empirically tested: H1: improvisation competency positively affects product innovation performance;H2: innovation ability positively affects product innovation performance;H3: improvisation competency positively affects innovation ability;H4: innovation ability plays an intermediary role in the relationship between improvisation competency and product innovation performance.The hypothesis test results were verified by data,and the following conclusions were drawn :(1)improvisation competency in turbulent environment is an important means for new enterprises to obtain product innovation performance.(2)innovation ability has a positive impact on product innovation performance,and is the driving force for new enterprises to achieve excellent performance.(3)improvisation competency is an important driving force of innovation ability.Improvisation is the ability to maintain the flexibility of innovation and to improve it as you try out new ideas and solutions.(4)innovation ability plays a partial mediating role between improvisation competency and product innovation performance,that is,innovation ability is an important path for improvisation ability to influence product innovation performance.
