Abstract/Summary:
This research project identifies the key factors to successful international intelligence cooperation in counter-terrorism. The project will use a qualitative case study approach to test how the level of trust, a common threat perception, and a cost/benefit analysis (the independent variables) effect successful counter-terrorism outcomes (the dependent variable), as well as the importance of international cooperation (the causal mechanism). The researcher aims to identify the key variables for successful counter-terrorism to be considered by policy makers, and to provide recommendations for future international intelligence cooperation.
