Abstract/Summary:
A descriptive study employing a mail survey of the seventy-two secondary agricultural teachers in Illinois' District 5 obtained a 68% response rate and found that Facilitating Coordination in Agricultural Education was beneficial to agricultural education. Results indicated that FCAE was meeting the needs in the areas of FFA, teacher professional development, and curriculum development, the study indicated, however, that certain improvements could be made. FCAE had a positive impact on Student Career Development Event Preparation, Supervised Agricultural Experience record books, student guidance, agriculture careers resources, and the obtaining of Continuing Professional Development Units by teachers. The Core Curriculum CD ROM's and the Core Curriculum PowerPoint Presentations developed by FCAE had highly impacted agricultural education in Illinois.
