Abstract/Summary:
In recent years, Higher Education has been faced with enrollment and financial challenges. Higher Education leaders are now seeking low cost, creative opportunities that provide a competitive advantage for the institution. Many Higher Education leaders are looking for solutions that provide prospective and current students an improved experience with services and information tailored to the student's individual needs. Institutions have realized the devastating effect of a poorly designed web presence may have adverse effects on recruiting and maintaining students. To address this situation, institutions have an opportunity to show advancement through cost effective web strategies. Institutions are finding they need to incorporate new strategy and management to better serve learners through data-driven analysis, behavioral insights, and improved user experience to enrich a student-centric web site environment. This paper outlines how the Chief Information Officer (CIO) may establish an effective web presence within a higher educational environment.
