Abstract/Summary:
This study examined graduates from Tarleton State University's Department of Agricultural Services and Development who obtained a Texas teacher certification. The study examined the perceived teacher-centered, environmental, and experiential teaching and learning methods used by the graduates in their classrooms. Objectives described the teachers' usage, facilities, student success, and perceived student and teacher attitudes toward each of the three types of teaching and learning methods. Participantsin this study also reported perceived barriers toward utilization of student-centered teaching and learning methods. Results yielded that participants primarily used environmental and experiential teaching methods. Students were perceived to learn best with experiential teaching methods. Participants perceived students had positive attitudes when learning with experiential teaching and learning methods. Participants reported experiential teaching and learning methods were the most enjoyable to use. Participants demonstrated they may not fully understand each of the three teaching and learning methods investigated in this study.
