A study conducted in 2013, field tested the effects of place-based environmental education materials on the environmental attitudes of students in one Midwestern high school. The materials were designed in conjunction with the Upper Mississippi River Curriculum and were designed to promote sustainable decision making by students. Results from student surveys indicate shifts in environmental attitude after students were exposed to the materials though statistically insignificant. Additionally, results from a teacher assessment survey indicate the materials may be useful for future teaching in environmental education courses. |
