| This paper is a policy analysis of the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001. The intent was to study the factors affecting the educational attainment of unprivileged, disadvantaged, and minority students in the public education system. The analyst utilized various sources, including government documents, legislation, and scholarly journals, to review societal/political changes and events in public education leading up to the enactment of the law. Elements of David Gil's modified framework were utilized to assemble the policy analysis.;After reviewing the various sources of literature and studying the policy, the analyst established that despite shedding light and placing greater interest on the need to improve the public education system, it was not without creating unintended and unfair negative consequences for unprivileged, disadvantaged, and minority students. |
