| The focus of this study is to determine students' perceptions of physical education and what relevancy it has to their lives. I have developed a physical education curriculum based on the students' and teachers' perceptions, and recommended teaching methods that focus on health-related fitness activities and their assessment. I have found that individual fitness concepts and activities, goal setting, self-assessment and evaluations, integration into other subject areas, and motor skills needed for lifelong engagement in healthy and satisfying physical activities are what students find relevant and need to be included in any physical education curriculum. |
