Recycling Of Electrolytic Aluminum Anode Cover Material

Anode covering is a necessary process in the electrolytic aluminum industry.The anode cover material used today is an alumina/cryolite based coating.In order to recycle the anode cover material,the separation of alumina and cryolite in the coating is necessary.For this purpose,this paper studied the effects of different collectors,different inhibitors and different pH adjusters on the flotation behavior of the coatings,and obtained a good separation effect.It provides reference and basis for the treatment of covering materials and other electrolytic aluminum solid waste.In this paper,the chemical composition,phase composition and EDS spectrum analysis of the coating material are used,we get the conclusion that alumina and cryolite are the main components in the coating,and the fineness of the grinding to reach below 74?m can avoid covering each other.When sodium oleate is used as the collector,the alumina will be enriched in the tailings,and the cryolite will be enriched in the concentrate.The flotation effect is better when the amount of sodium oleate is 1200g/t,and disodium methylenebisnaphthalenesulphonate is used as an inhibitor to obtain higher recovery and separation effect.When the pH is 9,a good flotation effect can be obtained,and compared with sodium carbonate,calcium oxide as a pH adjuster can save cost and due to Ca2+,the addition has a certain inhibitory effect on the flotation of Al2O3,and a better separation effect can be obtained.When dodecylamine is used as the collector,the alumina will be enriched in the concentrate,and the cryolite will be enriched in the tailings.The flotation effect of dodecylamine at 100g/t is better,and NNO can be used as an inhibitor.It has better separation effect than CMC,and CMC can be used as an inhibitor to achieve higher recovery.The lower the pH,the better the flotation effect of dodecylamine.When calcium oxide and sodium carbonate are used as pH adjusters,A pH of about 7 gives better separation.Compared with dodecylamine and sodium oleate,dodecylamine can be used as a collector to obtain better separation effect,especially the separation effect of cryolite,and the dosage of dodecylamine is less.It is suitable as a collector for flotation of covering materials.
