Textile flame retardant finishing is one of the most important method to protect human lives and their properties.Cotton has been widely used in the garments and household textiles due to its unique characteristics.However,cotton is inflammable,which is a potential source of fire and easy to make fire rapid spread.In order to improve the flame retardant property and reduce the breaking strength damage of cotton fabric after flame retardant finishing,a novel flame retardant finishing agent of polyetheramine-spironicophosphate diacyl chloride copolymer(PPD)was prepared in this study.The finishing conditions were systematically investigated and optimized to afford excellent flame retardant property and breaking strength of cotton fabrics.Whereas the fabricated PPD exhibited poor washable performance as the bonding force between the copolymer and cotton fabric was very weak.In order to improve durable property of flame-retardant,a new durable flame-retardant finishing agent PPD-CYC was further prepared by introducing melamine into PPD.The specific research contents and results are shown as follows:Part one: Preparation of a new halogen-free phosphor and nitrogen flame retardant and its finishing performance.A novel phosphorous nitrogen halogen-free flame retardant,i.e.,polyetheramine and spironyl phosphate dionyl chloride copolymer(PPD)was prepared via solution polycondensation method with spironyl phosphate dionyl chloride and spironyl phosphate dionyl chloride as raw materials and triethylamine as bound acid agent.The effects of polycondensation condition such as the reactants molar ratio,reaction temperature,and reaction time on the yield of PDD were studied.The results showed that the yield of PPD could reach up to 82.97% when the molar ratio of spironylphosphate dionyl chloride to polyetheramine was 1:1.8,the reaction temperature was 70?,and the reaction time was 12 h.the structure of PPD was confirmed by Infrared spectroscopy and GPC analysis.The effect of the finishing factors such as the dosage of finishing agent,baking temperature,baking time,and other technological parameters on the properties of finished cotton fabrics was investigated.The results showed that when the dosage of flame retardant was 600g/L,the p H of solution was 6,and the baking temperature and time was 150? for 60 s,the finished cotton fabric presented a good flame retardant property with 30.2 of the limiting oxygen index.In addition,the flame retardant had little damage to the mechanical strength and whiteness of the fabric.Then,the flame retardant mechanism of the cotton fabric finished by PPD was revealed by thermal analysis,carbonization analysis,and scanning electron microscope.The results showed that the good flame retardant which relied on the carbonization effect by dehydration.Part two: Preparation of a novel washable P-N type flame retardant and its finishing performance.To overcome the poor washability of PPD,a novel durable P-N type flame retardant PPD–CYC was prepared by introducing the cyanogen chloride(CYC)into PPD for cotton finishing.The effects of synthesis factors such as molar ratio of reactants,reaction temperature,and reaction time on the PPD-CYC yield were investigated,and the synthesis conditions of PPD-CYC were optimized.The results showed that the PPD-CYC yield could reach up 80.2% when the molar ratio of cyanogen chloride and PPD was 1:2.2,reaction temperature and time was70 ? for 14 h.The chemical structure of as-prepared product was confirmed by the Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy.The effect of finfishing conditions such as the amount of flame retardant,baking temperature,baking time,and p H value on the antiflaming property of cotton fabric was systematically investigated.The results showed that the limit oxygen index of the finished cotton fabric could be largely improved from 18.9 to 30.6 when the dosage of flame retardant was 300 g/L,the p H value was 6,and the baking temperature and time was 150 ? for 90 s.In addition to the good antiflaming performance,the finished cotton fabric had less mechanical damage and little whiteness loss.Compared to the commercial product,PPD-CYC has a better flame retarded performance for cotton fabric treatment.In view of the present problems existing in flame retardant for the cotton fabric,the preparation of a polyetheramine and spironyl phosphate dionyl chloride copolymer and its finishing performance was studied,and to overcome the poor washability of PPD,a novel durable P-N type flame retardant PPD–CYC was prepared by introducing the cyanogen chloride(CYC)into PPD for cotton finishing.the results showed the flame retardants PPD–CYC can not only improve the flame retardant performance of cotton fabric,reduce the loss rate of breaking strength of cotton fabric,but also increase and enhance the ability of its flame retardant durability,It is of great significance to the development of washable flame retardant textiles.
