The Comparative Study On The Design Of Modern Dining Chairs Between China And The West

Chair is a kind of furniture that has the closest relationship with human development,and it is also the industrial product that modern designers are most keen to seek breakthroughs.This topic takes the dining chair as the research object.Through literature search,investigation and analysis,comparative analysis,qualitative and quantitative analysis,inductive research and other methods,this paper makes a comparative study on the design elements and design innovation of modern dining chairs between China and the West.1.According to the main frame of the chair,three basic forms of dining chair A,B and C are extracted.According to the time sequence,the evolution of the three types of dining chair pedigree is drawn,and the development path is analyzed in detail.2.The five design elements of modern dining chair,namely shape,surface treatment,material,color and function,are subdivided into 15 design indexes.This paper collects the dining chair samples of Chinese and Western designer brands in recent ten years,and carries out descriptive statistics and difference test of each design index according to the whole,type A,type B and type C.After calculation,we can get the distribution and bias of Chinese and western modern dining chairs in the 15 design indexes,and whether there are statistical differences between Chinese and western modern dining chairs in the 15 design indexes.3.Based on the difference and diversity of dining chair design,this paper calculates the innovation degree of Chinese and western modern dining chair design by using the functional relationship.The results show that the design differences of A,B and C modern dining chairs in China are 0.79,0.55 and 0.65,the design differences of A,B and C modern dining chairs in the West are 0.73,0.77 and 0.84,and the design differences of A,B and C modern dining chairs between China and the West are 1.08,0.80 and 1.03.It reflects that Chinese modern dining chair is outstanding in design innovation in type A,but weak in design innovation in type B and type C,which leads to unbalanced development.Western modern dining chair in A,B,C type design innovation performance is relatively excellent,and the value is similar,the development is relatively balanced.The difference between Chinese and western modern dining chair design is significantly higher than that of western and Chinese modern dining chair design,which indicates that there are significant differences in the expression of modern dining chair design between Chinese and western regions.4.This paper analyzes the development status of domestic modern dining chair design,combined with the comparison of Chinese and western modern dining chair design,puts forward reasonable suggestions for domestic modern dining chair design.
