Study On Generalized Reading Space In Public Library Based On Environmental Behavior

With the diversification of the functions of public libraries,the traditional reading space cannot meet the increasingly rich reading behavior patterns of readers.Therefore,generalized reading space is needed to satisfy readers' different choices of behavior patterns.The research on generalized reading space aims at creating a space environment suitable for readers' diversified reading behaviors.Taking the provincial and municipal public libraries as the research object,this paper adopts the investigation and research methods of environmental behavior,such as behavioral observation,cognitive map and public intention map,etc.,to study the relationship between reader behavior and the generalized reading space environment.Onthe-spot investigation for the public library of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region,based on the traditional public library after reforming,contemporary public library and public library comparing inductive,analysis summary of traditional public library reading room of the existing problems and the advantage of the reading room in the contemporary library,probes into the important position of generalized reading room in a public library.In addition,according to the research method of environmental behavioral science,the behavioral patterns and psychological needs of readers in the generalized reading space are analyzed.By recording the degree of density of readers' stopping points,the popular location of the stopping nodes in the reading space is obtained.At the same time,the author investigates the readers' cognition of the space image and the place spirit,further studies the factors affecting the readers' cognition of the space,and deeply analyzes the relationship between the readers' behavior and the space environment of the reading.Finally,based on the previous research results on the relationship between behavior and space,the author uses the analysis method of environmental behavior to discuss the readers' experience and cognition of the generalized reading space from the perspectives of spatial position,plane form,spatial interface,color texture,light environment and landscape,and then obtains the design strategy of the generalized reading space.In order to highlight the importance of generalized reading space,architects should pay more attention to the value of generalized reading space in the public library,and provide multiangle thinking direction for the future design of public library space.The research emphasis of this paper is to create a general reading space environment to meet the needs of readers according to their behavioral psychology.Under the guidance of environmental behavior theory,this paper proposes design strategies for different levels of the generalized reading space,so that the generalized reading space can better meet the needs of readers and improve their awareness of the space.To further enhance the spatial vitality of public libraries and provide more generalized reference materials for the future design of the generalized reading space of public libraries.
