The 21 st century is an era of unprecedented openness.Science and technology are changing with each passing day,and information is networked. In order to adapt to the development of society, the education model is gradually opening up,and the activities of students have become more diverse. The traditional closed education has been replaced by an open teaching model.,Abandoned the one-way transfer of traditional knowledge. At the same time, the architectural form and spatial layout of primary schools are also changing. The new teaching mode places higher requirements on the campus space. The original single function space can no longer meet the needs of today’s students. Therefore,in order to adapt to the comprehensive development of students, create an open, flexible and diverse learning place, and construct a personalized learning space under China’s new teaching model,it has become a problem that education scholars and architects need to deal with.Based on the background of topic selection, this paper first studies the polysemous space of primary schools under the new teaching model, sorts out research ideas, summarizes the primary and secondary school teaching space models and developments at home and abroad, and sorts out the development of contemporary Chinese educational concepts and the status quo of primary school construction.Secondly, combining the characteristics and constituent elements of polysemous space, the requirements of polymorphic space in the new teaching mode are summarized, and the status of polymorphic space in domestic ordinary schools and new teaching mode primary schools is investigated by means of comparative research. With the new teaching mode of primary schools in terms of space composition and functional housing standards;combining the excellent cases of multi-sense spaces in primary and secondary schools with new teaching models at home and abroad,a summary analysis of multi-sense spaces in primary schools under the new teaching mode.Combined with the psychological and behavioral needs of primary school students, this paper further explores the impact of primary school students’ activity requirements on polysemy spaces, and concludes a new teaching model for the composition and layout of polysemy spaces in primary schools. Finally, aiming at the characteristics of the dynamic function and the compound function of the multi-sense space, combined with the principles and strategies of elementary school construction under the new teaching mode,a design method of a mono-symbol space,a concavesegment poly-stem space, and a mouth-shaped poly-sense space is proposed. To achieve a diverse and flexible learning environment and promote the all-round development of students.
