Research On Inheritance And Function Expansion Of Newly Built Ancestral Halls In Hunan

Proposed by the Report of the 19 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China,Socialism with Chinese characteristics has entered a new era,demanding that the right contents of culture should be selected for correct guidance of value and morality,so as to achieve rural revitalization and cultural construction of new countryside.Considering that the culture of Chinese ancestral temple has been an exceedingly unusual form of Chinese traditional culture,the spatial and cultural value of it can be fully utilized while tradition and modernity can be organically fused when ancestral temple is chose as a central carrier of rural cultural construction.According to the survey,parts of archaic ancestral temples,which have survived still,have become idle and wasted gradually with times developing.The archaic ancestral temple has generally fallen into spatial decay,while there are only a few of them advanced in a way of function variation.Numerous modern people do not know what an ancestral temple is or how it works and there is no ancestral temple left among many regions basically.The ancestral temple,as a type of reconstruction of functional architecture,provides directive significance for new rural construction on account of the existing circumstances and the requirement of era development.The thesis focuses on a subject that how to construct an adaptive ancestral temple which can inherit traditional culture and be multiple-functional as well as conform to the need of modern life,so as to make ancestral temple more practical under the premise of redefining its architecture at present and complying with the development of modernization.The thesis firstly confirms the original functions which the design for new ancestral temple can inherit by analyzing its original construction functions,following the principle of “Take the essence,discard the dregs”;Then it researches into the functions that applies to the spatial forms of ancestral temple and the need of rural revitalization in the new era,by researching and analyzing excellent cases of activation use of ancestral temples,as well as having creative transformation and innovative development on traditional culture represented by ancestral temple;The thesis finally studies on how to combine new building materials,structural technology and traditional architectural forms together to perfect the spatial adaptability of ancestral temple and make it easy to maintain and manage,meanwhile,preserve its cultural characteristics and improve its practicability.
