This project is originated from the national project "the original research of Chinese local folk construction system",which was conducted by Professor Wang Shu and his core teaching and research team. With the efforts of all predecessors, the research area of this national project has spread over 11 districts in Zhejiang Province, with a total of more than 100 villages.Mr.Wang Shu has repeatedly mentioned that if the old buildings in the countryside need to be relocated,we can only move their wooden frames, but the walls that make up the rural appearance cannot be relocated, the original hand-made traces and the original rural memories belonging to the countryside cannot be completely migrated. In the face of this situation, how to record and preserve the immutable "wall system" in rural areas has become an important issue.Under the guidance of Professor Wang Shu,there are two master’s theses,i.e."fabric Rationality-Masonry research in local construction in Zhejiang" and "significance of masonry".Based on the research results of this national subject, this paper makes a regional classification of the rich masonry phenomena in Zhejiang.Under this research context, this paper takes the stone masonry wall of Yanxia village,Lishui City,Zhejiang Province as the research object, hoping to make further supplementary research on the phenomenon of local "stone masonry" in Zhejiang Province. There are clear rules for masonry, but due to the different masonry materials, the masonry rules formed are different, and the way of using the masonry rules is also different. In the masonry phenomenon, the brick masonry material has a certain modulus, showing a relatively stable regularity. As a typical representative of irregular material masonry phenomenon, stone masonry, because of its irregular characteristics, presents the "orderly" and "disordered" masonry features at the same time,it can not be further studied only through "masonry classification".The stone laying process contains the wisdom of using the rules of masonry, which is not unpredictable and irregular. For stone masonry walls with "orderly" and "disordered" masonry laws at the same time,it is valuable to read the combination law between stone and stone, the transition law of various masonry methods, the "stone masonry wall cluster" and its "specific differences".Then,in the face of the stone masonry walls with "orderly" and "disordered" masonry laws, can we establish a structural model that can best conform to the "natural" stone masonry of Yanxia village? Can we establish a set of operable "syntax" model for irregular stone walls? In this paper,on the basis of previous regional investigation and Research on masonry phenomenon in southern and Northern Zhejiang,Yanxia village,Jinyun County,Lishui City,Zhejiang Province,is chosen to go deep into a village, and "stone masonry wall" with irregular materials as masonry is taken as the specific starting point to carry out the architectural complete atlas experiment on the stone masonry wall in Yanxia village,so as to carry out the architectural complete atlas experiment on the basis of the acceptance of stones The force characteristics sort out the state of combination and transition between various masonry methods. The final purpose of this paper is not to draw a complete Atlas of stone wall architecture based on "syntax",It is hoped that on the basis of the atlas experiment,we will carefully read the combination rule of stones in stone walls and the transition state of masonry methods, and use the linguistic analysis method to study the "syntax" of stone walls,so as to record the results of stone masonry rules and stonemason’s inspiration selection, and try to discuss a "syntax" model that can best conform to the "natural" stone masonry in Yanxia village, and perhaps we can explore it The way to keep and record the masonry phenomenon of irregular materials.
