Traditional Building Craft Skills Research And Reference Atlas Compilation Of Nanjing

Nanjing is located on both sides of the Yangtze River and the north-south junction.It is also the ancient capital of the ten dynasties.In addition to the demographic changes in history,a large number of immigrants moved in,Its culture are rich and inclusive.Meanwhile the west and south sides of Nanjing border with Anhui,and its east side borders with the cities from south to north which are Liyang,Zhenjiang and Yangzhou.In the long-term integration,there are similarities in traditional building practices in different territories,but some practices are significantly different.The author conducted a large number of on-the-spot investigations in Nanjing and its surrounding areas,including cultural relics,historical buildings and newly discovered traditional buildings.For the reason that valuable first-hand information was obtained through a total of more than 450 surveys in the city.It also has a deep understanding of the typical practices of traditional buildings in Nanjing,and combines the geographical climate,history and culture to summarize the division of traditional architectural techniques in Nanjing.On this basis,this paper explores the compilation method which are suitable for reference atlas of the traditional architectural protection design,and designs from the perspectives of framework,board and expression.Furthermore,the spatial pattern,ground practices,large wood structures,roofing works,and external wall structures are discussed one by one.At the same time,it interprets the traditional architectural forms,typical practices and regional differences in Nanjing through the form of atlas.Finally,it provides reference for the protection and design work of traditional buildings in Nanjing,and also provides a reference for the preparation of such atlases in various places.The full text is divided into two parts.The first one is the traditional building research and the another one is the reference atlas.
