The requirements of auto parts are getting more and higher with the auto industry developing fastly.New product research and development is the cornerstone of sustainable development of an enterprise.So it is a big challenge for researching and developmenting new products to meet customer requirements with a competitive price.For the current market,it is difficult for an enterprise which want to occupy a certain share of market to win just through differentiation and specification competition,because the technology is matures and the gap between enterprises are very small,it result in that competitions among most enterprise are focusing on price,providing lower price to win in competition.However,the enterprise must to have profit to survive longer.There are many ways to lower the cost,but the only difference is the impact degree.For example,after the design is fixed,most enterprise adopt the cost-reducing scheme to reduce the price of materials,promote efficiency of manufacture,shorten the cycle time of production,etc.but ignoring the cost on design phase.Therefore,the control on design phase is the source of product cost,it can’t be ignored,or even must be paid attention to it.This paper takes comfortable system of seat project as an example to analyzes the project cost management through the combination of theoretical knowledge and practical application.At first,describes the current situation of A company’s project cost management by the case studying,then find the issues through the brain storm and fish-bone diagram,then optimizes the project organization to improve the communication between team members.And adds design detail plan to control the design process,so it can find the design issues earlier so as to correct them accordingly.By to do this,it can avoid to resolve the issues with higher cost.The second,monitors the project cost with earned value,then find the cost deviation and analyze the root causes,take actions to make the cost under control.The study of this case reveal that the control method is effective for project cost management,it can provide references for new project development in the future.
