With the extensive promotion of professional certification in engineering education,as a member of Washington Accord,China has advanced from the stage of substantial equivalence of the 1.0 version to the stage of innovation leadership of the 2.0 version,contributing to international governance and offering China’s idea.Engineering education in China bears a new responsibility and mission to provide talent and intellectual support for the industrial development of China and even the world,which puts forward more comprehensive,higher quality and more international requirements for the talents training of engineering majors in Chinese universities.Local universities,as an important part of China’s higher education,must jointly undertake this mission.The certification standards of engineering education specialty and the engineering talents based on it training are ultimately dependent on the engineering curriculum in universities.How to better reform the engineering curriculum under the background of engineering education professional certification has become an important issue for local universities to improve the training of engineering talents in the new era.Firstly,by introducing the research background and significance of the topic,carrying on the literature review and concept definition of the research status,the research methods are determined and the research ideas are formed.Secondly,based on the certification standards of engineering education,the requirements of certification for the engineering curriculum system of local universities in the new era are analyzes,and the problems and causes of the engineering curriculum system of local universities in China are discussed through literature survey,case analysis,expert interviews,etc.Compared with the requirements of engineering education professional certification,some problems in the engineering curriculum system of in local universities are found out.For example,curriculum objectives can not reflect the value orientation,curriculum structure can not reflect the integration of disciplines,curriculum content can not meet the social application,curriculum implementation can not highlight the student-centered,curriculum evaluation mechanism can not cover the sustainability of improvement and so on.Based on the above factors and the experiences of curriculum reform in 6 universities at home and abroad,the optimization strategies of engineering professional curriculum reform in local universities is put forward: based on social needs,perfect the objectives of engineering curriculum;based on graduation requirements,optimize the structure of engineering curriculum;based on technology development,pick out the content of engineering curriculum;based on students’ interests,improve the implement of the engineering curriculum;based on continuous improvement,advance the curriculum evaluation and feedback mechanism.In the strategies,the concept and requirements of engineering education certification are applied to the engineering curriculum design to guide the reform of engineering curriculum in local universities,so as to establish a curriculum system with local characteristics to meet the requirements of engineering education accreditation,and improve the quality of talents training. |
