| German occupied Qingdao is a city which was established totally by Germany colonizers,which makes it a representative modern city in China.Many studies have been conducted on the style and art of Qingdaos architecture during the German occupation,but few researches on the construction technics and skills have been undertaken.The inspection on this topic can provide documental preservation for the construction technics and skills of Qingdao in this period,furthermore,provide guidance for the preservation and restoration of historical buildings in practice.On theoretical level,it can also benefit the research on China modern construction technics.Based on the research on the natural and humanistic context of Qingdao during the German occupation period,an extensive investigation has been carried out on the construction technics and skills of the remaining buildings built during the period.Systematization and comparative analysis reveal that the German colonists had established an architectural construction system rooted in traditional German technology in order to build a German-style city in Qingdao at that time.Cultural transplantation in architectural construction technics and skills had been accomplished.Within the system,the construction technics are elaborately selected based on practicality and adapted to the local natural and humanistic conditions in Qingdao.Furthermore,these technics have the characteristics of the era of transferring from hand-building construction to industrial production construction.In general,the construction technics and skills in German occupied Qingdao reflects the phenomenon of cultural transplantation in colonial context in the modern era,has high historical and technical value. |
