Study On The Characteristics And Activation Strategy Of Urban Waterfront Industrial Heritage

The development of urbanization is accompanied by the replacement of industries.In the process of urban transformation,cities have left behind a large number of valuable industrial heritages.They are distributed in different areas of the city,once bearing a lot of industrial forms and functions of national production,and their architectural features and landscape symbols have left many memories and associations for the city and people.How to protect and activate these industrial heritages has always been the focus of attention and research in the industry and academia.In addition,waterfront space is an important part of urban public space and a rare resource in the city.Its comprehensive value has been paid more and more attention.Urban waterfront industrial heritage has both the dual value of geographical location and function,so the protection and activation of waterfront industrial heritage is conducive to promoting the transformation of urban production shoreline to public shoreline,so as to create more abundant and diversified values for the society.Chongqing is a famous old industrial city.Under the influence of special natural conditions and historical background,a large number of industrial heritages have gathered along the Jialing River and the Yangtze River,which have important values and distinctive features.However,the overall protection and activation and utilization process of Chongqing lags behind that of other industrial cities.In the context of the policy of spatial enhancement of "two rivers and four banks" in Chongqing,it is of great significance to sort out the overall situation of the riverside industrial heritage in the main urban area of Chongqing and study the strategic path for its protection and activation and utilization in order to meet the new functional requirements of the city.This paper takes the main urban area of Chongqing as an example,and through field survey,historical data analysis,interview questionnaire survey and upper planning study,it classifies and classifies 25 riverside industrial heritages as the main research objects.Firstly,by means of literature research and field investigation,this paper analyzes the spatial distribution characteristics of the riverside industrial heritage in the main urban area of Chongqing,and summarizes three waterfront types: waterfront type,near water type and Far water type.In this paper,we extract the general characteristics of five aspects:the advantaged landscape,the mixed and diversified architectural style,the multidimensional spatial structure,the multi-dimensional transportation organization and the cultural connotation of the historical layers.By sorting out the protection status of the riverside industrial heritage and the process and mode of its activation and utilization,this paper summarizes the development of the riverside industrial heritage in the main urban area of Chongqing.Secondly,through field investigation,induction and analysis,post-use evaluation,statistical analysis and other methods,the typical cases of revitalization and utilization of the riverside industrial heritage in the main urban area of Chongqing were studied in depth in a typed and refined manner.The paper analyzes and summarizes the current situation of the activation and utilization of the riverside industrial heritages in the main urban area of Chongqing from four aspects: system level,development approach,material space and cultural spirit,and analyzes its development dilemma from three aspects: cognition,system and technology.Finally,aiming at the core issues of the development of the riverside industrial heritage in the main urban area of Chongqing,based on its typical characteristics and relevant experience at home and abroad,the goals and principles of activation are established.This paper puts forward a strategy system for the revitalization of Chongqing’s riverside industrial heritage from five aspects: the development system of the whole system,the appropriate activation driving mode,the multiple activation mode,the multi-pronged design strategy,and the open and shared operation mechanism.It is expected to provide methods and suggestions for the activation and utilization of riverside industrial heritage in the main urban area of Chongqing,promote the inheritance of industrial heritage culture,and stimulate the dynamic development of riverside district of Chongqing and its surrounding urban areas.
