Research On Public Space Design Of Elderly Apartment Based On Spatial Perception

With the introduction of the "National Plan for Actively Responding to Population Aging in the Medium and Long Term",the construction of elderly care institutions has become an increasingly important research topic in the elderly service business strategy.The acceleration of the aging process in my country has caused many problems in the construction of elderly care institutions.The fundamental reason is that my country has a relatively short journey into an aging country.The exploration of elderly apartments requires continuous theoretical research and practical experience.Aiming at the self-care and semi-self-care elders’ public spaces in elderly apartments,this paper summarizes the relevant theories and practical cases,and builds a theoretical framework based on the characteristics and reception methods of space perception.In the form of on-site surveys and interviews and questionnaires,three elderly care institutions in Huizhou Xingjian Nursing Home,Happy Elderly Apartment,and Yi’an Elderly Apartment were investigated,and the questionnaire data were analyzed using the quantitative processing methods of standard deviation and mean.According to the theory of space perception,the key points of the design of environmental perception elements such as areas,roads,nodes,signs,and boundaries in the public space of elderly apartments are drawn.Combining with the site to be built in the second phase of Huizhou Xingjian Nursing Home,the research conclusions are introduced,the public space of the apartment for the elderly is reasonably divided,and a positive public space design plan guided by theoretical basis is proposed.From the process of space perception evaluation and analysis and the public space design plan of the apartment for the elderly,first clarify the objects to be used,and proceed from the actual physical functions and needs of the elderly,and design the areas,nodes,roads,borders,and signs of the space appropriately for aging;Secondly,the functions of the public space in the apartment for the elderly need to meet the actual needs of the elderly,and the rich division of the public space can be widely recognized by the elderly and improve the communication behavior of the elderly.Finally,the elderly have different functions of the public space.However,they all have a high demand for and value public space,and elderly apartments should appropriately increase the popularity of public space,expand the use of public space and increase the utilization rate.
