In recent years,the state has issued new policies for the reform of education system,and various provinces and cities have begun to gradually implement new education concepts and advocate diversified and open education mode.With the rapid development of Xi’an City,the social demand for degree is increasing.However,most of the middle schools built in the short term adopt the traditional layout of determinant and courtyard.Although the traditional layout of middle school can cope with the exam oriented education,the single indoor and outdoor space is not conducive to the personalized cultivation of students.In the future,middle school education will not only focus on classroom learning,but also social interaction,rest and autonomous learning.Therefore,some designers in Xi’an try to design the middle school campus from the perspective of settlement,but whether the settlement space layout can be applied to the middle school campus in Xi’an,what are the corresponding design methods and applicable conditions,the openness of the campus in the layout,the richness of the external space,and the scale of indoor and outdoor space are the problems to be considered in the process of design exploration.In this context,this paper carries out the following research on the settlement type spatial layout of Xi’an middle school campus.First of all,this paper starts from the theoretical and empirical aspects,and carries out two parts: the concept construction of settlement type middle school and the case study of middle school layout.The theoretical research obtains the interlinkage between settlement and middle school campus cluster through literature research,and then constructs the concept of settlement type middle school in this paper.Through case study and field investigation,this paper analyzes the current situation and existing problems of the two types of middle schools in China.Then,this paper analyzes the characteristics of settlement layout middle school by using the method of combining qualitative and quantitative research,and then studies the design method and relevant applicable conditions of settlement layout in Xi’an middle school campus.The design method research part constructs three levels.The design of overall planning level is the macro level,which puts forward the relevant design reference of land use conditions,land use scale and other aspects.At the middle level,using quantitative analysis method,this paper puts forward the design reference of settlement layout in the external space environment and scale of Xi’an middle school campus.At the micro level,combined with students’ behavior psychology and teaching needs,the design method of teaching space layout is studied.This paper puts forward the thinking of the application of settlement layout in middle schools under the urban intensive environment.Finally,taking Xi’an Gao Xin No.1 Experimental middle school as an example,this paper studies the application and applicability of settlement layout in the design of Xi’an middle school campus and investigates it,and finds that there are some improvements in settlement layout design in the Xi’an secondary school teaching environment,which takes the basic education and examination oriented education as the main body.Therefore,from the perspective of sustainable development,put forward relevant optimization suggestions.Through the combination of theory and case,qualitative and quantitative supplement,this paper summarizes the advantages and disadvantages and layout characteristics of middle school settlement type layout,and studies the design method and applicable conditions of Xi’an middle school campus settlement type spatial layout.It is hoped that this paper can provide some help and inspiration for the research and engineering practice of settlement layout in the future campus planning and design.
