With the rapid improvement of residents’income level in China, the national comprehensive two-child policy and the increasing requirements on the quality of basic education,China’s primary and secondary school education funding will continue to increase in the future, and the demand for high-quality,green and sustainable primary and secondary school buildings is also becoming increasingly urgent. Therefore,it is necessary to study the energy consumption characteristics and energy saving potential of primary and secondary school teaching buildings, which is of great significance to the construction of energy-saving and low-carbon campuses in China.According to the literature research,it is found that while large amounts of domestic and foreign studies focus on the energy-saving design of teaching buildings of higher education institutions, few had been found focused on the theoretical and practical research on energy-saving design of teaching buildings in primary and secondary schools. What’s more, among the studies focused on primary and secondary schools, most of the researches are qualitative description.Based on the overall research idea of"proposing problems-analyzing problems-solving problems",this paper takes the building energy consumption of primary and secondary schools as the research object and Nantong city of Jiangsu province in hot-summer and cold-winter zone as the case study. It is divided into five chapters:the first chapter is the introduction, which introduces the background and significance of the research, summarizes the research progress in related fields, and proposes the research contents and methods;the second chapter analyzes the climate characteristics of Nantong area from four aspects of temperature, relative humidity, solar radiation and wind speed, and summarizes the characteristics of building energy and the use time characteristics of primary and secondary school buildings in Nantong area;based on the analysis of energy consumption data from 2016 to 2019,Chapter3 investigates the current situation of 27 primary and secondary school teaching buildings in Nantong. What’s more, the characteristics and current situation of building energy consumption in primary and secondary school teaching buildings in Nantong are summarized;the fourth chapter adopts the analysis method of multiple linear regression to quantitatively analyze the influence factors of teaching building energy consumption in primary and secondary schools. After that,Energy Plus software is used to simulate the energy consumption of typical primary and secondary school buildings. Finally, according to the influence factors and energy consumption simulation results, based on the quantitative analysis of Energy Plus software simulation with different calculation examples, the corresponding energy-saving design optimization strategy for primary and secondary school teaching buildings in Nantong area is put forward;chapter five is composed by conclusion and expectation of the future. The theoretical analysis and empirical research have been systematically summarized, and the prospect of the follow-up research has been put forward.Studies have shown that:(1)As one of the typical cities in hot summer and cold winter areas in China, the climate presents the characteristics of hot summer, large amount of solar radiation, cold winter, insufficient amount of solar radiation, high perennial humidity and high frequency of calm wind in Nantong area.Due to the influence of region and climate, the building energy in Nantong area is characterized by no central heating,no regional cooling, intermittent energy use and natural ventilation in transitional seasons;(2)There are obvious differences between the teaching buildings of high schools and middle schools in terms of time of use, density of personnel and internal heat disturbance. Therefore, the energy consumption level is not exactly the same and it should be considered separately in the energy saving design;(3)The influence of building orientation on cooling energy consumption is greater than that of heating energy consumption. The cooling energy consumption and total energy consumption have the same trend with the orientation, while the heating energy consumption has the opposite trend with the orientation. When designing the orientation of teaching buildings in primary and secondary schools in Nantong area, the main orientations of windows should be due south and due north, avoiding the east-west orientation;Secondly, considering the influence of irresistible factors such as terrain and layout, the orientation of 22.5°South by west can also be used as a controllable optimization choice conducive to energy conservation;(4)After the thermal upgrading of the exterior wall, roof and exterior window, the ideal heat transfer coefficient of the exterior wall is 0.5 W/m~2.k,the roof is 0.4 W/m~2.k,the exterior window is 2.2 W/m~2.k and the solar heat gain coefficient is 0.25.The energy saving rate of the envelope performance optimization scheme reached 17.77%,among which, the energy consumption of air conditioning and refrigeration and heating decreased by 32.35%and 7.15%compared with the current case;(5)With the increase of southward window-wall ratio, the annual accumulative refrigeration and total energy consumption will increase, while the heating energy consumption will decrease.
