With the slowdown in the development of the global automotive industry and the widespread use of automotive touch screens,the development of the automotive switch industry has been greatly impacted.As a traditional automotive switch company,Company M has become increasingly prominent in the quality management of new automotive switch product development projects in the past two years.How to improve the quality of new product development and the capability of project quality management have become a major issue for automotive parts companies to enhance their core competitiveness.This article is based on the theories of project quality management.Applying the general system of quality management of automotive parts new product research and development projects---Advanced Product Quality Planning(APQP)as the important framework.By taking the company M’s SXQC SSB(Start Stop Button)automotive switch project as the research and practice object.This practice object uses literature research method,qualitative and quantitative analysis method,case analysis method and in-depth interview method to analyze the current situation and problems of quality management of the company M’s new product R & D project for automotive switches and finally propose optimization strategies.By proposing the application of Quality Function Deployment(QFD)tools in the early stage of automotive switch new product development,establishing company M’s quality gate check process in the life cycle of automotive switch new product development,using a robust design method to strengthen the early stage of automotive switch new product development design quality and increasing the review process accordingly,optimizing and improving the practical application of Failure Mode and Effect Analysis(FMEA)in the development of new automotive switch products,proposing a Quick Response Quick Action(QRQA)problem solving method based on 8D problem solving method,improving a series of optimization and improvement measures for the entire process of supplier research and development of automotive switches,which have made the SXQC SSB project a huge success in the development process.Not only shortened the overall R & D cycle of 2months,but also reduced the project R & D investment cost,and most importantly greatly improved the overall quality of the new SSB switch and the company’s new product R & D project quality management comprehensive abilities.The project quality management optimization strategy proposed in this paper not only provides a good reference for project quality management of other similar switch new product R & D projects in M Company,but also has certain guidance and application value for the project quality management of new product R & D projects in other automotive switch companies.In addition,it also has a certain reference value for project quality management of product research and development in similar automotive parts.
