At present,China’s economic development is in the new normal,and the government pays more attention to the balanced economic development among regions.Highway traffic infrastructure,as the largest component of transportation infrastructure,play an important role for the flow of production factors between regions,and for the allocation of resources.The coordinated development between regions has an important influence.It is important to consider how to boost the balance and develop the diffusion effect of regional economy by using the highway Traffic infrastructure maximumly.So it is of great significance to study the influence of highway transportation infrastructure on regional economic disparity.Based on previous studies,this article explores the impact mechanism of highway traffic infrastructure on the regional economic gap.Firstly,using the provincial panel data from 2005 to 2018,the development status of highway transportation infrastructure and regional economic gap was described and measured,and It is found that although the scale of China’s road transportation infrastructure continues to expand,the level of development of road transportation infrastructure between regions is not balanced,and there are also differences in the regional economic gaps between regions in China.Secondly,a dynamic panel model of the impact of highway transportation infrastructure on regional economic gaps is constructed,and the period from 2005 to 2018 is studied from multiple perspectives and multiple levels.The impact of road transportation infrastructure on the regional economic gap.The results show that: from the perspective of the whole country,the highway traffic infrastructure is beneficial to narrow the regional economic gap,but the influence of different technical levels of roads on the regional economic gap is different.Expressways,first-class highways,and second-class highways have The effect of narrowing the economic gap is better than tertiary highways,fourth-level highways and other foreign highways.In terms of regions,some higher-level highways can narrow the regional economic gap in the east,but for the western region,the higher-quality highways Highways have aggravated the regional economic gap,while lower-grade highways are conducive to the reduction of the regional economic gap.Based on this,the article puts forward five policy recommendations: one is to improve the overall level of highway transportation infrastructure construction;the second is to plan the construction of highway transportation infrastructure in various regions according to local conditions;the third is to establish a diversified investment and financing mechanism;the fourth is to optimize 1.The soft environment in the western region will improve its ability to undertake industries;the fifth is to give play to the role of policy guidance to narrow the regional economic gap...
