Research On Landscape Design Of Community Public Space In Beihai City Under The Background Of Aging

China entered the stage of population aging at the end of the 20 th century,and aging before getting rich has become the most basic national condition in China.Due to the large population base of the country and the alarming speed of aging,the population structure has undergone great changes.Most cities in China have more or less the problems of insufficient activity places for the elderly,poor accessibility of places and incomplete public facilities,and so does Beihai City.In this context,the active response to aging has become a hot topic nowadays,and the national and governments at all levels have prepared relevant development plans and policies,and the research of various industries has also consciously developed in the direction of aging appropriateness.This paper takes the community public space in Beihai City as the research object,and carries out targeted design research from theory,strategy and practice,aiming to create a community public space that fully meets the needs of the elderly and build a harmonious community in the new era.This paper first analyzes the current situation of research on the application of aging-friendly community public spaces at home and abroad in recent years.The paper explains the disciplines and theories involved in the research,analyzes the physiological,psychological and behavioral characteristics and needs of the elderly,analyzes the characteristics and functions of community public spaces,examines the connection between the needs of the elderly and the construction of community public spaces,and studies and draws on the design techniques of excellent practical cases at home and abroad.We selected communities with a high degree of aging in Beihai to conduct field research,collected relevant information in the form of questionnaires,observation,interviews and photography,summarized the data and drew an analysis chart to analyze the practical needs and activity characteristics of the elderly.At the same time,we discovered and summarized the current problems of community public space,such as: uneven distribution of community activity places,lack of safety of pedestrian system,single level of greening,and insufficient function of public facilities.Secondly,based on the current conditions of community public space,we propose design strategies for the current problems of public space based on the needs and activity preferences of the elderly in the community,following the principles of safety,comfort,easy identification,participation and local design.In order,the design strategies are to create diverse functional space,organize smooth traffic space,create pleasant green space,construct systematic public facilities,and inherit characteristic community culture.Finally,Xin’an Street Community and Beibuwan East Community are used as case studies to combine the design strategies with the current situation of community public spaces,to obtain communities that meet the needs of the elderly and to verify the implementability of the strategies.In order to enrich the research system of agingappropriate design of community public space and provide reference for the agingappropriate renewal construction in other cities.
