In recent years,due to the acceleration of globalization brought about by the Internet and consumption upgrades brought about by domestic social and economic development,domestic air cargo demand has increased day by day.Due to the outbreak of the new coronavirus epidemic in 2020,the large-scale cancellation of passenger aircraft flights around the world have led to a significant drop in the capacity of the belly compartment of passenger aircraft.Thus,independently operating air cargo systems have become particularly important.In the past,traditional passenger-oriented airports could no longer meet the higher timeliness requirements of current logistics operations.In the other hand,freight-oriented professional cargo airports have emerged which is facing huge strategic development opportunities.The rational layout of professional cargo airports is the only way to improve air cargo network,enhance air cargo competitiveness,promote the transformation and upgrading of the city and regional industries which lead to high-quality development in our country.For a long time,due to the limitation of the social and economic development,domestic civil aviation industries mainly focus on passenger transport and think little of freight transportwhich has led to a subordinate position of freight transport relative to passenger transport.The targeted research on professional cargo airports is still in its infancy and limited in the field of civil aviation which urgently need relevant theories support reasonable location layout.At the same time,compared to passenger airports,the overall market of professional cargo airports is smaller and relatively niche which are often dominated by third-party logistics companies.Therefore,there is a lack of theoretical site selection research.In this paper,based on the existing research at home and abroad,from the theoretical and practical aspects of professional freight airport location research.At the theoretical level,this paper first combs the development of the world’s professional freight airports,summarizes the differences between the traditional airport space features,from the qualitative and quantitative aspects of defining the connotation of professional freight airports.On this basis,combined with years of work experience,domestic and foreign practice cases and a large number of on-site investigation and evidence,from the geographical location cut,this paper analyzes in detail the multi-dimensional differences between the specialized freight airports and the traditional airports in the hinterland economy and regional industrial patterns,airspace and land resources,multimodal transport conditions,land and manpower costs,and the layout of specialized facilities,etc.,this paper explores the special site-selection needs of specialized freight airports from the spatial perspective,and establishes the evaluation system of site-selection and planning.On the practical level,this paper applies the theory system of site impact to the site planning of the specialized freight airport in West Zhejiang,demonstrates the necessity and feasibility of building the specialized freight airport in Quzhou,and measures its future development scale,a p-hub median model is constructed to judge the rationality of the site selection.On this basis,the conceptual scheme of air cargo demand-oriented space layout is proposed for the airport and its surrounding areas.
