Research On The Conservation And Utilization Of The Historical Districts Of Taishan Market Towns

With the improvement of the awareness of cultural heritage conservation in the whole society,the conservation of historical districts and historical buildings has gradually become the focus of social attention.Taishan,located in the Wuyi region of central Guangdong,has built a considerable number of Market Towns under the promotion of modern overseas Chinese society and related policies.These Market Towns are widely distributed in the urban and rural areas of Taishan,with perfect spatial structure,reasonable layout,complete functions,and a fusion of Chinese and Western architectural culture.They are unique and are the crystallization of the material and spiritual culture of the hometown of overseas Chinese.However,in the process of rapid urbanization development,a large number of rural populations have moved out,and most Market Towns are idle or abandoned,so the situation of heritage conservation is grim.How to effectively promote the conservation and utilization of Taishan Market Towns and protect the precious modern cultural heritage has become an urgent problem to be solved.Based on the current severe situation,the thesis takes the Taishan Market Towns as research objects to carry out detailed research on the development history,distribution of remains,protection status,value analysis and other aspects of the Market Towns.In addition,the author analyzes makes an in-depth analysis of various protection elements of historical districts of Taishan Market Towns by using multi-disciplinary knowledge such as architecture,urban morphology,typology,cultural heritage conservation theory,historical environment conservation and nursing theory.On the basis of the above research,the thesis discusses the conservation and utilization strategies of Market Towns historical districts from the perspective of cultural heritage conservation.First,the thesis sorts out the construction and development context of Taishan Market Towns,studies the development process of Taishan Market Towns from ancient formation to modern development,and then to modern decline,and explains the relationship between Modern Overseas Chinese investment,Xinning Railway construction,Municipal improvement policy and Market Towns construction in modern times,so as to lay the foundation for subsequent research.Then,combined with field research,the thesis combed the status of the remains and conservation and utilization of Taishan Market Towns,and further analyzed the value of their historical culture,planning and design,architectural aesthetics,emotional memory and cultural resources.At the same time,the thesis classifies and studies the protection elements of the surrounding environment,spatial form,architectural heritage and intangible culture of the historical districts of the Market Towns,and summarizes the main characteristics of each element.Finally,the thesis discusses the conservation and utilization strategies of the historical districts of Market Towns from three levels: historical and cultural trail planning,space repair and renewal of historical districts,and historical building restoration and microrenovation,and puts forward relevant suggestions.Hope to provide a reference for the sustainable development of the historical and cultural heritage of Taishan Market Towns.
