As China has get urbanization as high as 56.1%,and with acceleration of urbanization and implementation,the protection of historical and cultural towns are facing new opportunities and challenges in Northwest China.Lack of theory and method of guidance,"destructive construction" is a common phenomenon in the protection of historical and cultural town.At the same time,in the process of rapid urbanization,there are a variety of social problems.Facing those urgent task,we should do protection of historical and cultural heritage,contain continuation of regional culture,develop local characteristics,and achieve a harmonious living".Gansu Province is one of birthplaces of Chinese civilization,is also one of most important nodes in Silk Road,which has a long history and be rich of culture,historical relics and ancient cultural relics.Gansu Province has four National historical and cultural towns,eight Provincial historical and cultural city,seven National historical and cultural towns,two Provincial historical and cultural towns(villages).As famous of "the first town of The Yellow River" and "national historical and cultural town",Qingcheng has a long history and distinctive cultural heritage.From the aspects of conservation planning,its "geographical location,historical factors,landscape pattern,street space,traditional courtyard,intangible cultural heritage" have distinctive regional characteristics in the Northwest China.Therefore,as a famous historical and cultural towns in Northwest China,Qingcheng's historical and cultural town conservation planning would be set good example for conservation planning of Gansu other historical and cultural town."Protecting historical famous towns and villages" is one of the important areas of Gansu Province construction area in Chinese civilization heritage Innovation Zone.Therefore,for it would not only inherit Chinese traditional culture,promote historical significance on national unity and common prosperity,but also effect on history of urban sustainable development,economic and social transformation,rise of urban and rural characteristics and style of local towns and villages.
