This article explores the application of virtual reality technology in the stage of urban design planing.Taking the campus design of Anshan Normal University in the project stage as the research object of this article,the focus is on the walkability of the campus space of Anshan Normal University.First,the situation of the school plan is introduced,and then the practical application of the virtual behavior experiment in the plan design is explained.In the next step,people’s cognition of the virtual environment is deeply studied and the experiment process is established,and the objective behavior experiment and subjective feeling experiment are designed.Based on the research on walkability measurement methods at home and abroad,this paper establishes the walkability evaluation system in VR virtual behavior experiment,formulates measurement standards,and establishes objective behavior and subjective behavior based on the measurable data of virtual behavior experiment.The two measurement directions and indicators of perception are established for evaluation from four aspects: purpose,functionality,comfort,and aesthetics.This paper studies the hardware and software equipment of virtual behavior experiments,establishes the experimental process,determines the experimental methods,and builds a public experience that presents the original plan of Anshan Normal University through virtual reality technology and realizes the plan from the perspective of "human".First,conduct an objective experiment to evaluate the purpose and functionality of the original plan of Anshan Normal University,and use the obtained behavior evaluation data to calculate the path diagram,the line of sight trajectory diagram,the motion density map,the heat map,and the line of sight density map.The form is presented to make the data visible.The images were screened and analyzed,and the problems of purpose and functionality in the walking environment of Anshan Normal University were discovered,and optimization suggestions were given.Then carry out subjective feeling experiments,record the subjective feelings of the experiencers with a questionnaire survey method,and classify the test items through factor analysis,and use the data scores to judge the comfort and aesthetics of school walkability,and Give optimization suggestions.In the process of optimizing the design,we find and summarize the parts that need to be improved in the plan’s walkability,and modify and optimize the plan from the designer’s perspective on the school’s main pedestrian nodes,walkway system,and various space,facilities,and landscape issues.Perform a second experiment on the improved plan,compare the data and image changes before and after the plan,analyze the changes of the experiencer’s perception and objective behavior in terms of purpose,functionality,comfort,and aesthetics,and test whether the optimization has been achieved Effectiveness,and look for problems related to new solutions.Through the above virtual reality technology intervened in the process of Anshan Normal University’s program design,while improving the walking space of Anshan Normal University,it summarizes the characteristics of the application of virtual technology in this direction,optimizes the experimental process,and realizes public participation in the program design,which is virtual reality technology.The exploration in this direction provides examples and related references.
