Research On Walkability Evaluation Of Universities And Campuses In Harbin

With the increasing attention paid to the construction of "pedestrian city" in China,the way people travel has also changed.Walking is the main mode of transportation for teachers and st udents on campus.The design of walking environment of the universities in cold region has special requirements,for the reason of the influence of special climate condition.This paper takes the walkability evaluation of universities in cold region as a research object,from the two perspectives of the regional climate characteristic of cities in cold region and the law of daily walking of teachers' and students' in campus,it can promote their health by increasing walking activity in different seasons and improving walking environment of the universities in cold region.At present,there is a deficiency of research on the walkability of city in cold region.Therefore,it is very important to research the walkability evaluation of university under the influence of cold climate.This paper combs the basic contents of the research on climate characteristics of cold cities,and summarizes the main features of cold climates.To size the research methods and research progress which are related to the walkability,and to clarify the meaning of walkability,for the sake of providing the basic theoretical support for the construction of the subsequent evaluation system of the walkability.It finds that the walking index method is widely used in the research on walkability,based on the analysis of the status quo of the research on walkability home and abroad.This method is an quantitative evaluation method,it is non-comprehensive,which is limited to the content of qualitative index research.This paper summarizes classification of campus walking activities and the characteristics of walking traffic by the means of field investigation and questionnaire survey,where it can find out the walking needs and walkability influence factors in campuses under the effect of the climate of cold region.On the basis of AHP-fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method,this paper constructs the evaluation index system,quantifies the indexes and proposes the tentative indexes,which are in accordance with the walking needs in campuses of and walkability influence factors cold region,and by the theoretical guidance of sustainable development,cultural ecology,environmental behavior,human-vehicle sharing and urban climate design in cold region.Using the method of fuzzy Delphi to consult experts,and obtain the final evaluation index system of cold university campus by screening the initial indicators.To construct the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation model of walkability of university campus in cold region through consulting experts in the form of questionnaires,to determine the weight of every indicator as well as qualitative and quantitative indicators according to different scoring criteria.By referring the winter harshness index of the main cold cities in China,it finds out that Harbin has a higher index,which is in Heilongjiang province.And then this paper takes the three representative universities as the research objects,which include Harbin University of Technology,Heilongjiang University and Northeast Agricultural University.To calculate the established fuzzy comprehensive evaluation model by using the software of MATLAB,EXCEL,and the evaluation results are as follows: Harbin Institute of Technology gets 79.41,and the evaluation result is general;Heilongjiang University gets 80.24,the evaluation result is good;Northeast Agricultural University gets 82.11,the evaluation result is good.It summarizes the existing problems of the construction of walking environment by the analysis about three above universities ' walkability evaluation results.To put forward corresponding optimization suggestions to solve these problems,in order to provide reference for the study of walking ability on campus in cold regions.
