Research On Optimization Of External Public Space In Hanyang Ancient Town

The current economic development brings survival challenges and new opportunities to the historical material and cultural heritage of the ancient town.In the past research on public space in ancient towns,the theories and methods of research questions tended to be subjective perceptual cognition.Most of them lack of overall quantitative analysis,so that the research conclusions were mostly extracted from the researcher’s personal experience or field investigations.Therefore,this article uses the space syntax theory to quantitatively analyze the external public space of the ancient town to obtain the quantitative characteristics of the public space,and combine the analysis results obtained from the field investigation to propose corresponding optimization strategies.This paper firstly summarizes the natural environment and humanistic environment of the Hanyang ancient town,and combines the influence factors of the space form to obtain the evolution of the overall spatial form of the ancient town;then analyzes the status quo of the ancient town’s point,linear,and planar public spaces,and summarizes the advantages and disadvantages of the public space of ancient towns;using space syntax theory,the linear space and dotted space of the ancient town are analyzed,and the characteristics of the overall spatial pattern and the integration,selectivity,and intelligibility of each space are combined.Perform visual expression and analysis;then combine the historical context of the ancient town and the public space characteristics of the existing ancient town to propose ancient town development planning suggestions and an attempt to optimize the layout of streets and lanes;finally,I use the space syntax theory to verify and adjust the optimization attempt,and find that it is suitable for the ancient town of Hanyang Public space optimization strategy...
