Research Of Features Protection Of Characteristic Villages And Towns Based On Spatial Gene Inheritance

Having nourished the local culture and agriculture civilization with a long history and the rich connotation,characteristic villages and towns are products under the underlying combination of nature,economy,society and culture,an important carrier of Chinese traditional culture and the spiritual hometown of the Chinese nation.However,with the shock of rapid industrialization and urbanization,a multitude of characteristic villages and towns with high protection value have encountered the threats of destroyed material legacies,faded cultural characteristics,ruined natural foundation and hollow population amid the general background of rapid economic development.In addition,some remained characteristic villages and towns seek economic growth and homogenous construction blindly in the process of development,resulting in a bad condition of their special resources,a groundless position for homesick people,a rootless base of culture and less drive for latter economic growth.In contemporary China,the protection of characteristic villages and towns has risen to the national strategic level.Under this background,there are urgent problems in the reality to be settled in protecting characteristic features,covering how to relieve the phenomenon of "the same feature in a thousand villages" to ensure localized protection,how to work out the interactive relationship among their space elements,natural elements and cultural elements to achieve comprehensive protection,and how to balance the battle between tradition and modernization for a sustainable development.This article attempts to introduce the concept of spatial gene and comb the relationship between connotation and function of space gene and landscapes in towns and villages through domestic and foreign literature and practices on rural landscapes protection and spatial gene.With a combination of urban morphology and urban space development theory,it adopts the logic of biological inheritance in order to construct a protection planning model of characteristic villages and towns based on the inheritance of spatial gene,including three steps of "spatial gene identification and extraction,a two-dimensional evaluation system based on spatial genes,protection strategies output based on gene inheritance”.Through these steps,this article aims to explore the inherent laws and realistic protection dilemmas of characteristic villages and towns to propose further protection strategies.This article selects two characteristic villages and towns,Qiqiao Village and Canhuashan Village,with distinctive representativeness and differences in protection processes as study cases,representing the protected and unprotected characteristic villages and towns respectively.First of all,the morphological elements and motivation elements of the cases are identified through detailed field investigation,literature research,and Interview investigation.On this basis,the spatial genes with high stability,localization and interaction are logically extracted from three aspects: frame,group and core.Secondly,based on the extracted spatial genes,this article evaluates the research objects respectively.In view of the material and social properties of spatial genes,the evaluation starts from the two dimensions of material spatial ontology and social congnition.Combined with the analytic evaluation results,the spatial and social problems that affect the village style protecting are summarized.Thirdly,based on the analysis and evaluation results,this article conducts a comparative analysis of two representative cases to discuss the problems and needs of the current protection planning.Finally,this article puts forward the style and features protection strategies in view of genetic inheritance.It is hoped that through the research of this article,some scientific suggestions can be put forward to help solving the problems existing in the protection and management of characteristic villages and towns.At the same time,some practical explorations can be carried out for enriching the rural planning theory and spatial gene theory in our country.
