| The seismic reconstruction of primary and secondary schools has always been a hot issue of discussion between architecture and civil engineering. The former’s discussion is based on the improvement of the functional layout, facade image, and thermal performance of the primary and secondary schools, puting forward the open design of the primary and secondary schools before the earthquake disaster. The latter one is based on the improvement of structural performance, the structural assessment of primary and secondary school buildings, reconstruction and reinforcement methods, and related codes.Although such researches have been studied in detail both in their respectives and often involve the intersection of content, how to integrate their research and guide architects to achieve efficient reconstruction design still remains to be discussed urgently.Based on such considerations, this article takes the envelope of the building as the research object of the design and reconstruction of primary and secondary schools, integrates its own advantages in this process, and analyzes the possibility of its connection of structural design and architectural design. This research starts with the architectural reconstruction method, and discusses the possible methods of various components in the envelope of buildings in three aspects of addition, reinforcement, and demolition, and comprehensively classifies these methods by components’ structural performance with summary of the pros and cons of their impact on space. Finally,it returns to the overall architectural reconstruction design of the envelope, discussing the seismic strategies and ideas of primary and secondary school buildings’ reconstruction with consideration of related issues. This article believes that the spatial reconstruction of the envelope has many advantages compared to the overall rebuilding. Moreover, design on the envelope with improvement of seismic performance can integrate the functional configuration, elevation design and thermal environmental improvement. In response to these further requirements, architectural design should have a more comprehensive understanding of various reconstruction methods on the envelope,so as to propose effective design strategies for the reconstruction of primary and secondary schools. |
